Chapter 46 - The Performance
We start our performance with lights shining in our faces and cameras recording our every move.
"There's a fire starting in my heart. Reaching a fever pitch, it's bringing me out the dark" sings Alexis. I see a couple including the judges of people yawning because of our slow tempo song. I smirk, they don't know what is in store for them.
We continue singing Rolling in the Deep while slowly walking around the stage. In the middle of the song we switch to singing Stitches by Shawm Mandes. After singing the chorus once we quietly start singing Dark Horse.
"So you wanna play with magic. Boy, you should know what you're falling for. Baby do you date to do this? Case I'm coming at you like dark horse"we sing while stepping to the side and quickly strip our white clothes to reveal our red outfits.
"You really thought that was it" I smirk looking at Xavier and Quinn who were sitting beside each other. Xavier winks at me but I just ignore him.
We sing the second part of the chorus with powerful voices before we change the song to Worth It. While singing we actually dance to the song with the choreography that Indra chose for us. After dancing a bit to the song the song changes to Anaconda by Nicki Minaj, we decided that we were just going to dance to this song because singing it would be too hard.
We finish our performances while panting. Dancing can do that to a person, we hold hands and bow down while everybody in the audience clapped. I hear Kayla scream, not like those really loud high pitch screams more like a surprise scream. I look towards what she is pointing and I see her mom and dad clapping while wearing a huge grin.
I look around the audience in hopes of catching a glimpse of my parents. I see my mom and I just wave at her while she sheds tears which I am guessing are because of happiness.
After going back stage Kayla and I make dash for the audience. We didn't have to go into the actual auditorium because we met our parents outside. I go and hug my mom and tell her how much I've missed her and everything that has happened during the competition.
Suddenly I remember something "Where's dad" I ask my still crying mom. "He had work, but he really wanted to come" she says, I just nod understanding that my family didn't have the luxury for my dad to miss work. "When are you leaving" I ask "Tomorrow" she says happily.
I join my mom and watch the other performances with Kayla's parents. Most of the performances were really good but some of them needed a lot of practice.
At the end, we all go on stage and Xavier tells us who made and who didn't. "Matiol WG, you....." Xavier says increases the suspence "made it" he screams. We all hug each other and start planning our next performance.
