I wake up still in Dan's embrace, but it was a little different. We were holding hands. He had an arm draped over me and, his fingers were intertwined with mine. I didn't remember this from yesterday, so I guess he held my hand while I was asleep. I feel him snuggle closer to me. I lay still, his warm breath tickling the back of my neck. I move as quietly and carefully as possible, so I was faced toward him. His hair was messy and I could hear his light snores. I cuddle up toward his chest and wrap my arms around him. I doze off back into sleep.

I later wake up, but with Dan gone. I yawn and stretch my arms out. I get up and walk into the kitchen. "Oh, you're awake. How'd you sleep?" Dan asked. "Good." I smile. "What are you making?" "Waffles." He answers. "Can I help?" I ask. "It's fine. You can go back to sleep if you want. I'll wake you when I'm ready." Dan says. "But I want to help." I pout. Dan laughs. "Okay, here you can pour the flour into the bowl. And then crack two eggs in there as well." He says, handing me a bowl and a wooden spoon. I poured the flour into the bowl, but some got poured onto the table. I quickly cleaned it up, as Dan giggled at me. I then cracked the two eggs, surprised I didn't accidently get any shell in.

Dan finished the rest and we decided to eat our breakfast outside. "I guess we're going to have to go to the castle after this." Dan says, taking a bite of his waffles. "Yeah, but after that you could come with me to say hi to the knights. I do this every once a week, you could have a duel with some of them if you want." I suggest. "I'll pass on the dueling, but I'll go with you." Dan grins.

We finish our waffles and hurry off to the castle. The first person I meet inside is Miss. Allen. "Phil! Where were you last night? I was worried sick about you!" She exclaimed, worriedly. "Don't worry, Miss. Allen. I was with Dan. We ate dinner for a little too long and I knew the castle was shut off to everyone, so I stayed with Dan." I explained. Miss. Allen looked to my left, finally noticing Dan, who gave her a little wave. "Oh that's a relief. Well, I guess I should let you two go. Did you boys eat breakfast?" "Yes." I answered as I started to walk. I look behind me and notice Miss. Allen whisper something to Dan that made him laugh. He catches up to me and we enter the familiar room.

We fought for a few hours. Dan said I was improving, but I had to work on my foot-work. But there were still a few awkward moments where Dan would be on top of me or I would be on top of him with a sword pointed at each other. We normally would just shrug it off, but you could just feel the awkwardness. We eventually ended our match and headed toward the knight's room. I was quickly greeted by Justin. He wore spectacles, was a bit shorter than Dan, and had green eyes. He was the closest thing that I had to a friend, before Dan. "Phil!" He said, coming over and gave me a hug. "Oh, hey, Justin." I say, hugging him back. I remember about Dan behind me and quickly pull back. "Justin, this is Dan. Dan, this is Justin." They shake hands, but I notice Dan seemed a bit tense. "Are you ok, Dan?" I ask, concerned. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine." Dan said, waving me off. But I could tell he wasn't. "Um. me and Dan are gonna go. I'll see you later, Justin." I said, waving goodbye to him. "Where are we going?" Dan asks, confused. "My favorite hiding spot."
