"What is it?" Miss. Allen asked, turning on the stove. "Me and Dan...we're...um...dating..." I say. "Oh that's wonderful! I always thought you two looked good with each other!" She says, and hugs us both. "Thanks Miss. Allen." Dan laughs. "Now are you going to keep hugging us or let those eggs burn." "Oh yes, I forgot! Thank your for reminding me." Miss. Allen says, quickly returning back to the stove. "Wait, but what're you going to do? You're with Dan, but you're going to marry Katelyn. What're you going to do?" Miss. Allen asks. "To be honest, I don't know. I did think of running away though." I said, holding Dan's hand. "You know that would never work." Dan said, squeezing my hand. "I know, it was just a thought." I say, looking down at the floor. "Hey, look at me." Dan said, grabbing both of my hands. "Someday we can. Someday." He said, leaning his forehead against mine. I smile and kiss his cheek. "Breakfast is served. And don't worry I won't tell anyone, on one condition." Miss. Allen said, with a sly smile. "What is it?" I ask nervously. "You two don't have sex in the kitchen. You two should be greatful I was the only one who heard you last night, you naughty boys." She giggled. "Agreed." We laughed.

We eat our breakfast in my room in silence. But I could tell there was something going on with Dan. "Hey, you okay?" I ask. He looks up at me and bites my lip. "Well...I was just thinking...maybe you could come meet my mum? She knows that I'm gay, but like... Are you comfortable with that? Or is it to-" but I quickly cut him off with a kiss. "I would love to meet her." I smile.

We were in front of Dan's house. "Are you sure you want to? You don't have to, if you're uncomfortable." Dan says. "It's fine, really." I say, taking a deep breath. "Ok." He smiles, and opens the door. "Mum? Are you home?" Dan called out. "I'm in the kitchen, Dan!" Yelled a voice. I followed Dan into the kitchen, and see a middle-aged woman washing the dishes. "I didn't know you would come early. What's the reason?" Mrs. Howell asked, without looking up. "Oh, um the king let me go early today. And I brought someone I would like you to meet." Dan says, shyly. "Oh that's wonderful! Who is-" but she stops as she takes a glance at me. I give her a small wave. "Oh my! You're the prince! The prince is in my home! I'm sorry for the mess, your majesty." She said, kneeling to the floor. "Oh no, please don't. And it's fine. I find your home quite lovely." I say, admiring the interior. "Oh, well thank you! Um, so Dan why have you brought the prince here?" She asked, flustered. "Oh, um well. You know how I've told you I think I found the love of my life?" He blushed. Mrs. Howell nodded, confused. "Well, here he is." He said, gesturing toward me. "Wait? Are you serious? No-but, what? Oh, um I'm sorry your majesty for my son dragging you here and-" she started, but I cut her off once again. "He did not drag me here, Mrs. Howell. I came here willingly. And I feel the same way about him." I say, as I intertwine my fingers with his. He gazes at me lovingly, and I return the look. "My son and the prince love each other! This is perfect! You look adorable together!" Mrs. Howell gushed. "Thank you." We say, simultaneously. "Um, but what about that princess Katelyn? If you dont mind me asking but, aren't you supposed to marry her? And I must say she's absolutely gorgeous." Mrs.Howell says. "Yes, but she has a hideous heart. And she will never be the reason why I wake up willingly in the morning. She will never be the reason why I smile. She will never the the thing I care for the most. And will never have a place in my heart, as Dan does." I say. I turn to look at Dan, and his eyes were glassy. He swiftly wrapped his arms around me, and whispered in my ear, "I love you." "I love you too, Dan." I whisper back. "Aw!" Mrs. Howell says, her eyes as teary as Dan's. "You guys really love eachother, don't you?" She asked. We both nodded and smiled at eachother. "If you're happy Dan, I'm happy. I will support you two no matter what." She grinned, wiping away a tear. "Thank you, Mrs. Howell! And I just wanted to say you have raised an amazing son!" I smile. "Well, thank you. And I must admit he has found an amazing partner." I blush at the compliment and thank her. "I'm going to be with Phil for a little longer, so I'll see you a little later mum!" Dan said, grabbing my hand. "Alright! Don't come home too late." Dan's mum warned. "Ok!" Dam called back and shut the door close. "Where to?" "The castle."

"So, why did you want to come back to the castle?" I ask, confused. "So, I can teach you a new song." We hurry up into my room. I close the door behind me and sit down in front of the piano. And Dan sitting right behind me, like he always did. We had dome this a few times, but I could never control how fast my heart would beat when he sat that close to me. It's funny, it seems as if our bodies fit perfectly together. "Phil, you done daydreaming yet?" Dan giggled. "Oh, um yeah." I blush, getting thrown back into the reality that was my life. "So, put your fingers here. Ok, and then go to G with this finger..." He whispered in my ear, leaving shivers down my spine. I follow his directions, slowly hearing the melody. I started playing it quicker, and more comfortably. I could feel Dan smiling, his chin rested on my shoulder. "That was really good. I think you deserve a prize." He whispers. Before I can say anything, he starts to leave small kisses on my neck. I let out a small moan, as he starts to suck on my sweet-spot. "Wait, no, Dan. Stop. Not here. Not now." I mumble, pulling away. "Why?" He pouts. "Someone could see." "Who cares if anyone sees?" Dan asks, still pouting. "Katelyn, or worse my father. He would take you away from me. And I don't want that to ever happen." I say. "It won't...but maybe we can continue this later?" He winks. "Ok. Fine." I giggle. "Yesss." He says, fist pumping in the air. I laugh at his childish behavior. "Ok, now teach me another song." I say, excitedly.

Hours pass, and we're still in the same spot. Dan showed me three new songs. I was practicing, while Dan guided me when suddenly Katelyn came barging in. "What are you doing?" I ask annoyed. "Coming in to see my future husband. What are you doing?" She asked, suspiciously. "Dan's been teaching me how to play piano." I state, firmly. "Right, ok. So, you've been hanging out with him for the whole day?" She asked, narrowing her eyes. "Yeah, I don't see the problem." I smile, innocently. "Whatever, I'm telling your father about this encounter." She snarled and slammed the door as she left. "What's going to happen?" Dan asked, nervously. "Don't worry, all we're doing is sitting close to each other. Father will probably just think she's making up rubbish. I think he's starting to like you." I grin.

A few hours later, Dan eventually leaves. We agreed to meet up again, but this time I was going over to Dan's house. We weren't going to risk getting caught, if Miss. Allen had heard us then someone else is going to hear us eventually. I pass by Father's room, but can't help notice that his door was wide open. I pop my head in and notice Father sitting in bed, talking to another man I didn't know. "What's going on?" I ask. "Oh, I didn't see you there Phil! This is Doctor Burns. He's been examining me for a couple of days. And I've come up with an illness. It's not serious, there's only a small percentage of me dieing. So, don't worry." He reassured me. "Well, I still hope you get better." I say, worriedly. "I do too, son. Now about what Katelyn told me."
