The whole day students were decked out in school clothes. Everyone milled around the school cafeteria getting what they wanted to eat rather quickly. Emerson practically had to drag ok Brooke away from Carter just to get some starbucks.
"So what's going on between you two?" Emerson asked. "You haven't said anything to me and... Is that his jacket?" She raises her eyebrows.
"Yeah but he still hasn't asked me out." She says looking at the red jacket that had a large SP on the front in black. "He just got this last night. Did you know that he is playing as a starter in the homecoming game. He has been practicing with them for like four days and bam!" She says fiddling with the zipper.
"The jacket is a clear indication that you are his." Emerson says as she pays for her drink.
"Have a nice day, Emerson!" The starbucks guy says. Emerson slowly looks up to see poor Elliot.
"Thanks, Elliot, good luck!" She refers to the job and gives him a pitiful look. The sad thing is that whenever you get into trouble enough you have to work it off. That meant literal work.
"What about you and Nash?" Brooke says changing the topic.
"I just met the guy. I literally know nothing about him besides that he is hot." Emerson says. "That jaw line though!"
"Are we talking about me?" Strong arms wrap around Brooke's shoulders. He brings her face directly into his chest. She lets out an "Agh!" Before he continues. "I never knew you felt that way, Emerson."
"In your wildest dreams." Emerson snorts unattractively. Suddenly she notices Nash walking slowly behind them. She looks back at him one last time, and this time his gaze snaps to her. "Hi." She mumbles.
"So is Nash gonna pull up a seat? We can make room!" Brooke asks Carter and Emerson. "Sound good to you?" She glances back at Nash. He just shrugs. "We got ourselves a shrugger!" Brooke mouthes to Emerson.
"Yep!" She laughs back. The four of them reach the table and begin to sit. Suddenly Emerson is grabbed from behind and moved to a different seat. "Agh! Hadley stop it!"
"Nope sit here!" She dumps Emerson in between Nicole and Nash. Nash starts to set down his tray. "Wait a second, Nash. Audrie and I need a favor."
"Oh we are going now?" Audrie asks. "Carter grab that arm." She mumbles gripping tightly onto one of Ellie's arms. Carter does as told with a devious, yet triumphant look.
"What is happening?" Ellie looks at her restrained arms. Her nervous eyes flash in between her friends. "No."
"Yes! It has to happen eventually! So Nash give this piece of paper to that boy over there!" She smiles evilly at Ellie. "He has dark brown hair, and I think blue eyes. Am I correct, Elliston?"
"Sure I will tell you... Right after I rip out your throat!" She cries pulling against her restraints. Surprisingly Audrie was able to hold onto her and not let her go. Of course she did have Carter's help.
"Just give it to him then go hide in a bush somewhere. You can sit with us tomorrow!" Hadley proposes. He looks skeptically at her than at the paper in his hands. Slowly his eyes turn to poor Ellie. He grips the paper in between two fingers and rips it in half. Ellie lets out a joyful sigh. "Nash!" Hadley growls at him.
"What?" He asks sitting down without a care in the world. The surprising thing was his accent. They all look at each other. He was Australian.
"You have an accent?" They all ask.
"Oh yeah did I not tell you guys this small bit of information?" Carter smiles devilishly. "Whoops! Must have slipped my mind."
"Something like that doesn't just slip your mind, moron!" Hadley yells at him.
