Ah the day of homecoming. Everyone was still hyped up from the homecoming game the night before. Now they got to dance the night away with the guy of their dreams. Right? Nope. Not at all. In some cases this night was going to be perfect for them. In others they hadn't even been asked. No guy really showed any interest in them at all.
"Come on, Ellie, you have to go!" Audrie tells her best friend persistently.
Ellie looks up from her laptop."No." She says and rolls her eyes.
"Why not?" Audrie pleads. "Aiden is gonna be there!"
"Yeah well you kind of already ruined my chances with Aiden." Ellie says looking back down at her computer.
"Oh a few love notes never hurt anyone." Hadley says.
"Yeah but remember at the party?" Ellie says not even looking up. "He knows now. He is gonna be there with Courtney anyways. Why bother?"
"What about your dress?" Audrie says. "You paid a lot for it!"
"I paid forty bucks." Ellie says looking up at them. "Ever heard of ebay?"
"Ughh!" Audrie says flopping onto her bed. "You are really frustrating me right now! If you don't go I don't go." She crosses her arms.
"You have to go." Ellie looks up at her. "You actually have a chance with Justin."
"He already has a date remember?" Audrie says. "One that isn't me! I'm pretty sure he isn't interested anyways."
"Oh come on you guys fight like an old married couple all the time!" Hadley yells.
"We do not." Audrie mumbles.
"Um.. Yeah you do." The girls say in sync.
"Look he can do better than Kennedy and we are talking about you!" Hadley says.
"Kennedy is nice guys! And she is pretty and smart! How am I to compete with that? I can't like him!" Audrie says.
"Audrie, you are just as pretty!" Ellie starts. "Besides is he dating Kennedy?"
"Well no but-"
"No but!" Ellie says. "You two are destined to be together!"
"No we really aren't." Audrie says. "We really really aren't."
"Oh but you really really are!" Ellie says hugging her friend. "Deal."
"What?" Audrie says confused.
"I am going to homecoming." Ellie says and both of the girls tackle her to the ground in excitement. "But I swear that if even one of Aiden's friends look at me weird-"
"Then you can leave!" Audrie finishes the sentence. "But you have to stay long enough to watch who gets homecoming queen and king!"
"Ew no." Ellie says grumpily. Then she laughs at Audrie's sweet and innocent face. "Fine. Then I shall hightail it out of there!"
"Of course!" Audrie and Hadley both hug Ellie.
"Okay let go now. Too much hugging!" Ellie says trying to push off her friends. "Just go put on your dresses. I promise I will get ready."
"Yay." The girls say excitedly before grabbing their dresses and heading to the bathroom.
Ellie turns to grab her red dress. It was nice and poofy and came down to her knees. The whole top was bedazzled and sparkly. Ellie ran her fingers over the silky material before quickly putting it on. After a little bit of struggling she manages to get the zipper zipped by herself. This was right before the door is thrown open.
