Chapter 27: Curiousness

The next morning, Arianne go outside from her room. She saw Erick and Clarissa sitting on the coach, they are sort of talking. When Clarissa saw her, she looked worried.

Clarissa: "Arianne!!! What happen to you last night?! Are okay?! Did something happen?!"

Arianne looked confused, when she looked at Erick, he didn't make an eye contact with her and head to the kitchen.

Clarissa: "hey, answer me!!"
Arianne: "I-I don't know what happened last night."
Clarissa: "what?!", *looks at Erick* "Erick, are you sure you're me telling the truth?"
Erick: *sighs* "how many times do I have to tell you?"
Arianne: "why? What did happen last night?"
Clarissa: "he told me that you're drunk last night and...." *whispers to her* "and you confessed to him about your feelings. Is that true?"
Arianne: "what?! I-I did that?! That's not true!"

While the two girls are blabbering about it, Erick is already finish preparing for school.

Erick: "I don't want to end your chit-chat but, Arianne, we're gonna be late for our class."
Arianne: "oh yeah! I almost forgot. Just wait for a minute."

Arianne quickly prepares herself for school. After that she called Erick to run with her to ride a taxi. When their taxi arrived at their school.

Arianne: "come on, hurry up! We're gonna be late!"
Erick: "okay, okay. I'm coming, just wait."

It's already 7:20 and their class starts 7:30. Arianne can't take it any longer and grabbed Erick's hand. When she hold his hand, they both felt awkward and weird.

Arianne: *flushed in red* (why did I feel so weird, why a-am I embarrassed?)
Erick: * flushed in red* (why am I feeling awkward? Am I blushing?)

Luckily, when you entered your classroom, the both of you are not late. But, Erick still haven't made any eye contact with Arianne. They sit on their chairs and continued doing their thing.

Raphael: "yo, Erick!! What's up?"
Erick: "I'm doing fine."
Raphael: "so how's the date?"
Erick: "date? With who?"
Raphael: "with Arianne. I heard after the celebration of nutrition month, you two head to the carnival by the beach."
Marcus: "you did?"
Erick: "it's not a date, okay? I'm just hanging out with her."
Marcus: "why do you sound weird? You sound nervous or somehow, guilty of something. Did something happen?"
Raphael: "what? You did something to her?"
Erick: "fuck no! Okay, I did do something to her, but not in the way you're thinking. Perverts."
Raphael: "hey, I just want to make sure."
Erick: "hmph... whatever."

Later, Erick is hanging out on the rooftop. He is just laying under the clouds with deep thoughts.

Flashback:
Arianne: "I'm talking about me. How tired my heart is! I'm tired of always feeling happy then suddenly sad or depressed. Especially with you! When I'm with you, I-I dont understand how I feel. I feel awkward at the same time I feel comfortable, I feel mad at you but, at the same time, I'm happy that I'm with you. Its so annoying!!"
Arianne: "I-I don't know what to do. I felt angry and sad when I saw you two so close to each other. I-I felt angry because I... I... ugh! Why her? There is someone else out there... like.. like.. me!"
Arianne: "I-I think I...... have fallen for... you..."
Arianne: "it started from the time when you first showed me that you care for me. When I was inside my room crying, you're there to comfort me. And when you defended me from Christina. It's so weird to think that you, someone who treats me so badly, can be so sweet and kind to me. I just couldn't help my heart from falling for you.."
Arianne: "when you went inside my room, when you defended me from Christina, when you apologized to me, and when you bring me here to make it up to me..... did you really care about me? Do you... feel the same way like I do to you?"

Erick: "shit! Why can't I get that out of my head?", "do you... feel the same way like I do to you.....' a simple question, but it took me a hard time to find the right answer...."

While Erick is in his deep thoughts, Arianne went to the rooftop.

Arianne: "there you are."
Erick: "huh? Oh, it's you.."
Arianne: "are you...okay? You've been acting weird lately..."
Erick: "in what way?"
Arianne: "I-I don't know... maybe because you're not making any eye contact with me? I don't know.."
Erick: "so what if I do that?"
Arianne: "it feels like you're avoiding me.."
Erick: (wait, am I avoiding her?) "I'm not avoiding you or anything. This is just what I do everyday."
Arianne: "no, you're different before.. you started to act weird the day after we went to the carnival."
Erick: "I'm not avoiding you, so don't worry." (Aah... I remember now. Everytime I look into your eyes, I remember that serious expression you showed when you asked me.)

Dismissal time, Erick texted Arianne to go ahead. He walked himself home then he dumped into someone. It's Grey. When Grey noticed it's Erick, he became cautious, remembering what happened to him when they're at the carnival.

Grey: !!!! *moves away from him*
Erick: "stupid-ass. Don't expect me to do that again. I did that so Cheryl will go away from me."
Grey: "out of all the people, why me?"
Erick: "because you're the only whose close to me."
Grey: "whatever, let's forget about that."
Erick: "yeah yeah.."
Grey: "so... how's Arianne?"
Erick: "what? Why are you so concerned about her?"
Grey: "I saw her cry, twice, because of you. And I know how you act towards girls."
Erick: "she's fine, she's drunk that time so she didn't remember anything."
Grey: "what? You let her drink knowing that she's too young to be drunk."
Erick: "oh yeah? As if you don't drink too."
Grey: "same towards you. Where is she?"
Erick: "she's gone home. Wait, what are you planning to do to her?"
Grey: "nothing."
Erick: "don't go anywhere near her."
Grey: "fine, I won't."

Erick turned around and he was about to go, but Grey spoke.

Grey: "you need to be careful with you actions, especially towards Arianne. You just don't know what she told me at the carnival."
Erick: "wha-"

Before he could ask, Grey already left. Erick called Clarissa.

Erick: "hello Clarissa..."
Clarissa: "oh Erick, what makes you call me?"
Erick: "uh... I was just wondering... are drunk people... honest?"
Clarissa: "wh-... wait.. are you talking about her confession?"
Erick: "what?No..just wondering, that's all."
Clarissa: "why so curious? I mean, if you don't care at all..you wouldn't ask about it"
Erick: "just shut up and answer my question."
Clarissa: "how should I know? I'm not her. Go find out yourself."
Erick: "how should I know?"
Clarissa: "go ask her, ask her if what she said was true."
Erick: "obviously, she won't answer me. She would just try to change the topic."
Clarissa: "just look into her eyes and you'll get the answer."
Erick: "but-"

Clarissa ended the call.
