Unexpectedly

Chapter 28: Forced Confession

Erick arrived at the Spectrum condominium. While he's walking to their condo unit, he saw Arianne just came of from their condo unit.

Arianne: "h-hey."

Erick waved at her yet, doesn't make an eye contact with her. She is going further away from him, he is hesitating to talk to her. But then, he gathered all his courage.

Erick: "Arianne..."
Arianne: "what is it?"
Erick: "m-meet me at the pool area."
Arianne: "uhh yeah, sure."

Later at the pool area, Erick and Arianne meet there. Arianne is waiting by the pool with her feet soaked in the water, then Erick arrived wearing his oversized, thin, plain shirt and jogger pants.

Erick: "thanks for waiting."
Arianne: "oh, no problem."
Erick: "so uhh.... I have a few questions, if you don't mind."
Arianne: "it's fine with me, I guess."
Erick: "s-so... how are you after having fun at the carnival?"
Arianne: "oh...uh... well, quite in pain but.."
Erick: (oh shit! I remembered she wasn't drunk when she saw me and Cheryl.) "U-uh sorry. You probably remembered seeing me and Cheryl-"
Arianne: "it's okay. I really didn't mind that at all."
Erick: "you don't remember being drunk?"
Arianne: "I'm not sure... but, I have a dream that time."
Erick: "what dream?"
Arianne: "well.. just don't be weirded out by this okay?"
Erick: "uh yeah.. okay."
Arianne: "well in my dream, I only saw you and me. And we're sort of fighting, and I cried.", "I ran away. It sort of looks like in romantic-drama movies, when the girl runs away and the boy chases her."
Erick: "okay..."
Arianne: "you hold my hand and tried to ask me what's wrong. But then I snapped, I've said everything that's on my mind, even what's in my heart. Then...I... feel like in my dream... I confessed? I don't know, that's the part where I sort of got confused."
Erick: "do you think it happened in real life?"
Arianne: "what? How can you say that?"
Erick: "because that actually happened in real life. You confessed to me about your feelings for me. And even asked me if I feel the same way towards you."
Arianne: "what?! I-I didn't."
Erick: "you said you have fallen in love with me ever since I showed that I care about you."
Arianne: "what?! That's impossible. I didn't fall in love with you."
Erick: "then prove it."

He stands up and holds Arianne by her shoulders.

Erick: "do you like me?"
Arianne: "t-this is nonsense.. I told I don't like you."
Erick: "idiot. This is a yes or no question. Answer me with either yes or no."
Arianne: "you're just wasting my time. Let me go."
Erick: "come on now. Don't try to change the topic and answer me."
Arianne: *looks away* "then the answer's no."
Erick: "why are you looking away?" *holds her chin* "look straight into my eyes, and tell me that you don't like me."
Arianne: *looks at him* "I seriously don't like you."
Erick: "really? Here's a challenge, say it while looking into my eyes with a poker face."
Arianne: "what?!"
Erick: "you don't like me, right? Then prove it."
Arianne: "I..."

Erick swings her and holds Arianne by only one hand, who was about to fall into the pool.

Arianne: "what the fuck are you doing?!"
Erick: "nothing."
Arianne: "let me go."
Erick: "if I'll let you go, then you'll fall into the pool. Stupid."
Arianne: "are you crazy?"
Erick: "I'll count to 5. If you still won't answer me, I'll let you go and you'll fall into the pool."
Arianne: "a-as if you'll scare me with that."

He's facial expression is serious and he starts to count. Yet, Arianne still denies.

Erick: "one.."
Arianne: "hmph..."
Erick: "two.."
Arianne: "can you stop this?"

He let go of her hand, but then catches her with his other hand. Arianne almost screamed.

Arianne: "what the hell?!"
Erick: "three..."

Arianne's hand is slowly slipping through his fingers. She's struggling to hold on to him.

Erick: "four... be ready to get wet."

He is only holding her fingers to prevent her from falling. Her fingers is slowly slipping from his hand.

Erick: "fi-"
Arianne: "fine! Fine! I admit it I like you!! I like because even though you treat me badly, you can also be so sweet and kind to me. That's why... I-I love you, Erick Andersen!!"

Erick was startled of what she just admitted. He expected her to not give up, but she didn't, she confessed to him. Just when he was about to say something, Arianne's fingers slipped from his hand. She is gonna fall into the pool. He attempts to catch her but, he could only embrace her. And both of them fell into the pool.

After getting out from the pool, they went back to their condo unit, all wet.
