Kakashi once again entered the prison, wanting a confirmation to his theory. He had finished reading his sister's journal and he had decided that Haruks is not to blame.

He stopped right in front of the cell, to find a strange sight. Kisame Hoshigaki was sitting on the bed, leaning on the wall, without his cloak. On his lap is Haruka's head. She was sleeping, with an Akatsuki cloak wrapped around her.

"What do you want?" The Hoshigaki asked calmly, as he stroked her long black hair.

"I want answers." The Hatake replied, "How the two of you acted here were very different than at the Land of Waves. Why is that?"

Kisame sighed, and bent down to Haruka's ears, whispering soft words while his hand shook her shoulder gently to wake her up.

Her eyes slowly opened, and his large hands hold her body firmly as support, helping her to sit up despite how weak her body felt.

Haruka's eyes began to focus, and she soon spotted the Hatake. "What do you want?" She asked. Her voice held nothing but a small hint of curiosity.

"The truth." He simply said. She averted her gaze to her lover's eyes, who only mouthed 'it's-your-decision'.

She closed her eyes.

"Bring the Hokage here." She finally replied.

The Hatake raised an eyebrow, but did as what he was told.

As soon as he was gone, she let out a deep breath.

"I don't want to die like this." Haruka started.

Kisame let out a small sigh, and kissed her forehead. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine. You're not alone."

"What if I die before they kill me?" She whispered, looking down. His gaze on her softened, and he gently caressed her cheek.

"I don't care if you hate me for this, but they will never kill you. I swear, I will make you smile again. A true smile. You deserve to be happy."

She leaned on his shoulder, and he snaked his arm around her small figure.

"Arigatō." Is all she said.

"So? Will you explain everything?"

Instead of replying, Haruka turned at Hiruzen, asking for his permission. The Sarutobi sighed, and gave her a weak nod.

"How can you know that I lied?" She asked.

Kakashi smiled slightly, pulling out something from his weapon pouch. Her eyes widened as soon as she recognized the book.

"Your team's journal. More like, my sister's, actually. Itachi told me to do something she want, so I read it."

She averted her gaze down, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Where should I start..."

"How about I just give you the questions?"

She nodded, and he sat down. "Did you kill Shisui?"

Kisame's grip on her shoulder instantly tightened.

"No. He committed suicide. His body was however never found. But the blood, and pieces of his clothes was there. I watched how he jumped off the cliff."

Kakashi's gaze softened. He never wanted to hate Haruka. She was his junior, his previous partner in ANBU, and she knew how kind-hearted she actually was. He was just a kind of person who couldn't let go easily.

And he knew how much Haruka loves Shisui. They were very close, as if they were lovers.

"Next?" Her voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Why did you kill them?"

She sighed, as her hands were now balled into a fist. But however, the Hokage was the one who answered the question.

"Haruka Uchiha is a true shinobi. The heiress of her clan. Loyal to her village. She worked under the Hokage, following his orders. She will do everything necessary to keep her home save, to keep her clan's name clean. And for that reason, ..." he paused.

"She accepted disgrace in the place of honor, and hate in the place of love. She desired to die as a traitor for the sake of her birthplace, and mostly, her brothers."

It was silent, until they head a bitter voice spat out from behind them. "Bullshit."

Everyone turned, to find the remaining two Uchihas there. Itachi and Sasuke.

"She killed them because of her lust for power!" Itachi yelled, while Sasuke nodded in agreement.

Surprisingly, Kisame growled. He was about to burst in anger when Haruka put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. She turned at her brothers, who were now standing in front of the cell.

"You may say whatever you want." She stated, as she looked up, staring at them. That's when they realized how dull her once bright onyx eyes were.

"After all, people live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define 'reality'. But what does it mean to be 'correct' or true? Merely vague concepts... Their 'reality' may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own worlds, shaped by their beliefs?"

Itachi gritted his teeth, cracking his knuckles.

"I think we can. My reality is different than yours. I believe that I did the right thing. You think otherwise."

"Do we have to question it?! It's obvious!" Sasuke exclaimed, glaring swords at her. Kisame frowned. Sasuke had lost his trust, it seems.

"Oh, dear, brothers." She said, letting out another exasperated sigh, "It's not wise to judge others based on your preconceptions and by their appearance."

"You said it yourself that you killed them to test your power!"

"You told us that you will fight us to death! You want to give us a slow, painful death!"

She smiled. "If I can fake my love for years, lying would be a childplay. I managed to deceive you by my words, telling you the truth."

Kakashi gaped at the siblings. Their words are too confusing, especially Haruka's.

"Let's go, Sasuke. Let her rot here." Itachi said, before he and his brother left.

Hiruzen turned at the remaining ravenette.

"Why the sudden change of heart? It seems like you want them to find out the truth." He stated, earning a small smile from her.

"A lovesick idiot told me that it would be better if I told people how much I love them before I die." She explained.

"Hey, I'm not lovesick!" Kisame exclaimed, looking at her in this disbelief.

She turned at him, and raised an eyebrow, as she bent closer to him. "Are you sure, Kisame-kun...? It seems like you are in denial..." She whispered.

His face turned purple, and he quickly pushed her away, as he turned to the wall, avoiding her flirty gaze.

"S-Shut up, Haruka! Get back to the main topic!"

"I never thought Haruka was a teasing type of a lover." Kakashi muttered. Kisame, who heard this, scoffed.

"It's in her genes, Hatake. Damn Uchihas." He mumbled. The next second, he was knocked out cold.

"Why are you talking about death? You're just 21, Haruka." The Hokage asked once again, ignoring all the previous romantic quarell.

Haruka shrugged. "I'll die in two years, I think."

Kakashi raised an eyebrow.

"Remember about Itachi's heart sickness which suddenly disappeared? It was me who healed him."

"You are crazy." Is the only thing that managed to escape his lips.

The Hokage shook his head disapprovingly. "That's one of the most selfless act I've ever heard. Why did you do that?"

"I can't see him suffer..." She muttered.

Kakashi nodded in understanding. He would do the same if it was Akari.

"Why did you kill them?" He asked, back to the first topic.

The aura changed. Kakashi swear the temperature even dropped. Haruka's gaze hardened, and she gritted her teeth.

"... Danzo's orders, to prevent a civil war."

His eyes widened.

"The elders believe that the only way to stop the Uchiha's coup d' état is by killing all of them." The Hokage said with a heavy sigh.

Kakashi slowly nodded, absorbing the information. He shoved his hands in his pockets, as the gears in his head starts spinning.

Kisame's groan of pain pulled him out of his thoughts.

"What did I miss?" The Hoshigaki asked, holding his head, wincing in pain, "Damn woman, you know how to punch hard."

"Thanks for the compliment." She calmly replied, "Anyways, I had just told him he reason behind the massacre."

He hummed in reply. Kakashi looked up, staring at the other shinobis, who were also staring at him, waiting for his reaction. He decided to give the announcement.

"Would you like to show everyone the truth? Because I got a plan."

***

"You're a crazy genius." Kisame stated. Kakashi smiled behind his mask.

"I took pride in that." He said, before he turned at the Uchiha. "So, what do you think?"

Haruka turned at the Hokage, raising an eyebrow.

"It's up to you, Haruka."

She sighed. "Well, it's a good, but crazy idea. And if we succeed, the elders will all be gone for good."

"Alright." Kakashi said, as he pulled out a sheet of paper and a pen, handing them to Haruka. "Write down everything you're going to say. I'll be leaving now, but I'll be back tomorrow to edit the script."

"Roger that, Captain."

Kakashi shook his head disapprovingly, chuckling slightly, before he waved and disappeared.

The Hokage nodded, before he walked out of the prison. Kisame turned at Haruka, raising an eyebrow.

"Are you sure about this?"

She smiled softly. "Now that I think about it, my parents' last wish is for me to take care of them. I guess I have to give up my title as shinobi, and now fulfill my job as a big sister."

"... What about Akatsuki?"

She closed her eyes. "Let's not think about that."
