SAAB'S POV

"Okay class, arrange everything that there is to arrange while we're waiting for the bell," Mrs. Summers, our Greek Mythology teacher, said right after she finished her discussion about all kinds of Greek myths regarding the sea. Since G.M's my last subject for today, that means when the bell rang I'd be the end of this semester and the start of Christmas break. Well of course, when we go back we'll be taking tests for this semester before it finally ends but still...

I arranged my things, placing them all in my bag, zipping it up and readied myself to get out of this class room the moment the bell rang. Mrs. Summers continued to remind us about everything there is to remind; exams, essays to be passed on and of course, our safety for our vacation.

"Just remember, not because you're off school doesn't mean you won't do any of your homework anymore," she reminded, looking us one by one in the eye. The students groaned as reply.

I felt someone poke my side from behind and turned my head to look at my best friend, Sam. "Can't she stop ranting already so we can leave?" She asked in an irritated and bored tone.

I chuckled. "Easy there, Sam. The bell's about to ring anyways," as I say this both of us checked our watch and as silently as possible (as silent as it can be when there are almost 20 students who are all doing the same thing as we are) we counted down the last 10 seconds for the bell to ring.

"10... 9... 8... 7... 6..." by this time, Mrs. Summers stopped talking and rolled her eyes at us before taking a seat in defeat. Well, it's not our fault to be honest. She really needs to know that students are eager to hear the bell, not her announcements and reminders. I do feel bad for her for a bit, but only a bit.

"5... 4..." the countdown grew louder, and the grins on Sam's and my faces grew wider too. I'm pretty sure every single one in this room has the same expression as we have, and every single class is doing exactly what we're doing now; counting down the last remaining 5 seconds.

"3... 2..." and then the bell rang and everyone cheered. All at once the students made their way outside the room, into the hallway and free from this school for at least three weeks. Sam and I followed suit, bidding our goodbyes to Mrs. Summers. When we finally reached our lockers, Sam exclaimed.

"Wohoo! Christmas break baby!" I chuckled.

"Well, aren't you a little bundle of joy," I commented, opening my locker and stuffing the things I have in my bad that I don't need and replacing them with those that I do.

She smirked. "And you're a little bundle of frowns," with that comment, my grin subsided and was replaced by yet another frown. Her smirk was gone and now she looked worried but pissed, if that's possible. "Seriously Saab, cut some slack for yourself. It's not your fault."

I ignored her and continued doing my chore. I really don't want to talk about it, and for a week, I did a very good job of not doing so. But I know that I can't keep my silence forever. My friends will have to prod it out of me, so I might as well do it soon. But I just can't. I mean, I can't even talk to Julius, so how can I go open up to my friends.

Okay, so maybe you're a little confused now. It was a week ago anyways since everything happened. But it all happened so fast, that I affected not just Julius and Shannon, but also the people involved in their life. In short... me. So, the two broke up, right? And when did this happen? The day right after Shannon's birthday. Can anything more horrible top that?! No!

And the most annoying part of all? They broke up while Julius is talking to Shannon on the phone in his balcony, with me lying helpless in his bed. His bed! But I was sick for god's sake! And of all days in a year, my flu decided to pay a visit that day, where Julius felt responsible for anything that has to do with me.
