-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Britt and her family left that Sunday. And again, I as alone at home with my brother. Kiefer’s work has been sent at home because he won’t be attending any of his classes. That’s why he’ll be studying at home for a week, just until Mom and Dad came back.

Once I woke up, I went straight to my bathroom and took a bath. When I’m done I headed for my walk-in closet and got dressed. I settled for a white crop top with a cross on it and tucked it in my galaxy designed skirt that goes just above my knees and my Docs. I grabbed a gray beanie and pinned it on my hair, and then I ran downstairs with my stuff swinging on my shoulder. Kiefer did the honor of making breakfast that morning; cooking bacon waffles. He let me eat before telling me that he’ll be sending me to school and picking me up after.

“You don’t have to pick me up Kief, I know that you’ve got college work and I don’t wanna bother you,” I told him as I got in the passenger seat of his car.

Kiefer started the car. “And I’m not going to let you walk home,” he said as his foot hit the gas and he drove in a minimal speed towards campus.

“You can leave your car there,” I suggested, knowing fully that he will never trust me with his car. No matter how a great driver I am.

He shook his head. “No, not a chance.”

He parked right in front of the entrance of the school and I got out immediately. “Bye, Kief. Thanks!” I called over my shoulder.

He waved at me slightly. “No prob, sissy. Be here by 4pm sharp.”

I gave him a thumb’s up before completely entering the hall and he drove away. He’ll probably go and meet Gabby somewhere and when I get home, they’ll either be at the living room or at his bedroom doing forbidden things. God, help me survive a week more with that creature I am supposed to be calling my brother.

Because of not concentrating on where I was walking, I suddenly bumped on someone. I stumbled a little, but was stopped by strong hands.

“I’m so sorry,” I looked up to whoever the person was, and saw it was Hartel. A blush instantly flashed on my face.

Hartel smiled at me, letting go of my arm. “No problem. No bruises, no harm done,” he said. A smirk followed after that, and his words; “Although I have to admit, I think you have quite a thing for bumping into me. It happens a lot.”

I laughed, but the redness of my cheeks harden and it’s pretty obvious that I’m blushing because from the hotness I am feeling, I’m pretty sure I look like a walking tomato right now. “Yeah. I’m born careless, sorry about that.”

“Apology accepted,” he replied.

As I walked forward to where my locker is, I notice that Hartel followed me. I don’t wanna be rude or something, but I assume he’s mad for what I did last Saturday night. I mean, I cried and slept in his arms without his permission. I just broke down in front of him, isn’t that some kind of rudeness? And besides, he found out that I’ve got feelings for his best friend who happens to be taken, so I really think he should be mad. So… why is he following me?

Finally, when I reached my locker and he’s still standing behind me, I turned and confronted him. “Not that I don’t want you here or anything but, why are you following me?”

He just smiled. “I just wanna talk to you.”

I arched my eyebrow. “Okay…” I draw the word longer than intended as I shifted my weight to the other leg. “Shoot.”
