Chapter 4: Late Night walks and Paparazzi

Josh and I walk together down the streets to a park. Beautiful apartments surround it and a huge fountain is placed in the middle of the common. "Wow. I have always wanted to live in a city apartment. I would dream about it when I was younger." I say wistfully. "I actually live in one of these apartments when I'm not on set or back home in Kentucky." Josh says smiling at me. I love his smile. I smile back and look down at my feet shyly.

After a brief awkward walk we finally end up at a small cafè called The Flower Garden. There is an outside patio with a wire ceiling weaves with vines and roses. Twinkling lights light up the tables in the shade. Josh walks over to the waitress and asks for a a table for four. "Why are you getting a four person table?" I ask him. "Because I want you to meet my friend and his girlfriend. I thought a double date would be easier for the first date together with each other." Josh says nervously. "That is so kind. Sound perfect! Lets go wait for them." I yell grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the table our waitress showed us.

We both sit down and start looking through the menu. The waitress comes back kind of nervous. I can tell she is a fan of Josh's. "Can I get you any drinks?" She asks is a cracking voice. "Sure. I will have some lemonade please." I dictate politely. "And I will have some coke please." Josh says. We then get into a fight over what's the best soda before a bot walks over with a girl who looks awfully familiar. " Hey Jai what's up?" Josh says in a chill voice standing up. I stand up too.That must be Jai Brooks. I only remember him because my friend from middle school loved him when we were younger. "Hey man. Who is this lovely lady?" Jai asks Josh pointing to me. "

"This is my friend Ann. She and I are auditioning for the same movie." Josh tells Jai smiling at me. " Are you sure your just friends?" Jai teases budgeting Josh. I blush and look over at the girl. Our eyes meet. "Hi. I'm Juliana." She says holding a hand out. I shake it and then realize who it is. "Juliana Peters?This is Ann Hills! We went to school together. We both swore we would meet these guys." I scream. " Ann? Is that really you? Omigod!" Juliana yells running over to hug me. We embrace each other and years well up in my eyes. I never thought that I would see her again. I guess I was wrong.

Everyone sits down and catches up while we have our salads and sandwiches. Juliana and Jai have been dating for a year now and she works for Teen Vogue now. I am so happy for her. Jai keeps teasing that me and Josh are a couple but we haven't been official with it. Yet.

After a while we are all down and full. The boys split the check and we say our goodbyes making sure we make plans this week. Jai and Juliana walk hand in hand to his car and he opens the door for her like a prince would do. They're so cute.

Instead of going him the short way, Josh and I walk through the park instead. The sun is slowly fading and it is getting later and later. I grab Josh's hand and squeeze it. He look me surprised then squeezes my hand back.

We walk hand and hand until my phone starts buzzing in my hand. I pick it up its the film's director. "Hello?.... Yes this is she.... Really?....Tomorro?....Perfect....

Thanks! Bye!" I say hanging up the phone. I choke on my own scream. Running and jumping into Josh'a arms I say, "Josh! I got a callback for the movie. That was the director calling!" He spins me around. "That's so amazing. If only I got callbacks it would even better." Josh says. Josh puts me down and I start twirling around feeling so happy.

I look back at Josh and he smiles. I put up my hands and we lace then together. Our faces are so close and we are about to kiss then I see a flash shine in front of me. A paparazzi is there and I didn't know it. Josh grabs my hand and we run laughing down the street to my hotel. We think we lost them so we slow down. Josh is behind me when I turn around. He pulls me into a warm hug and says, "We should go running sometime. See if you can beat me again." "That sounds perfect to me. How about tomorrow morning? 6:00?" I ask. "Perfect." He says grinning from ear to ear. I pull away from the hug and kiss him... only on the cheek though. The same flash shines bright again in my eyes. Josh looks at me red all over his face. I wave goodbye and walk towards the elevator in my hotel.
