Chapter 21: JoAnn

I see pink, orange, and yellow blend together in a swirl. The sunrise is truly gorgeous this morning. I am sitting in the sand of the beach in the morning. My eyes are weighed down. My skin has goosebumps all over them from the cool morning air. I can see the boardwalk in the distance being opened for the day. I lay back and close my eyes. Just as I almost fall asleep, I hear somebody's voice.

"Is this seat taken?" I hear the person say. I slowly rise and turn around to see Josh standing there.

"No." I whisper softly. Josh sits down next to me on the sand and sighs.

"So. Sydney and I were up all night worrying about you." He says turning towards me. I just nod not looking at him. " Ann. What's wrong? You can tell me anything."

"Like I said before. I'm confused." I breathe.

"Confused about what?" Josh asks.

"About my feelings. The truth is Josh is that I...I...I love you. But I'm also still kind of in love with Will too." I say. Josh looks at me with kind eyes and I look at him too. For a moment it's just silence. Just us staring at each other.

"What is your heart telling you?" Josh says breaking the silence. I think for a moment. Then all my troubles wash away. I know what I will say.

"My hearts telling me that... I chose you." I state as he listens. Josh smiles at me and pulls me closer to him. We give each other a kiss and pull away.

"My heart will always chose you." Josh whispers in my ear. I smile.

Soon, we get up and walk back to his house which isn't that far away. Sydney is waiting for me at the door.

"Ann! Are you okay? I've been worried sick." She yells.

"I'm fine. I know what I want now." I say as I grab Josh's hand.

"Aww. You're back together!! JoAnn has reunited!" Sydney screams a bit to loud. Both Josh and I are confused.

"JoAnn?" Josh asks. Sydney nods.

"It's you guys couple name. Josh and Ann. It was all over the magazines when you were together before."

Josh and I look at each other and burst out laughing. Together.

2 weeks later..

"I'm going to miss everyone so much!" I yell crying as we are about to leave the movie set for the last time. Everyone goes into a huge big hug.

"Don't worry. You will all see each other again at the premiere." The director says. I'd almost forgotten about that. This whole experience went by to fast! I start crying. Everyone looks at me with sympathetic eyes.

" I think Ann needs another hug!" Someone yells. I sheepishly smile has I get closed in.

"I love you guys." I whisper to everyone. Then, I leave the set with Josh with pieces of the heart left inside.

Sydney has to go back college in Paris where she's working on pastry baking today. I start crying just like I did earlier. She starts crying too. We hug each other for about five minutes before I speak.

"Okay. Get out of here before I decide to lock you up here." I mumble. Sydney laughs.

"I'll miss you Ann." She says.

"Don't forget to bring me back a Parisian boy." I say sarcastically.

"What do I hear about you and a Parisian boy?" I hear Josh says behind me. I laugh.

" Oh. Just that she's going to bring me back one." I say in a wistful tone as I feel him hug me from behind.

"So I'm not good enough anymore?" He asks next to my ear.

"No. You're perfect." I say. I turn my head behind to his head. We kiss for a moment before realizing Sydney was still standing there.

"You two need to stop being a perfect couple." Sydney states. "I have to go but I just want to tell you Josh that I sent you an email with something with this girl on it." I look at her with wide as as the front door closes. I know exactly what this is.

Josh runs down the hallway to his phone on the couch and opens up his emails. I jump on to of him trying to get the phone. I yell while laughing as he holds me down so I can't get the phone. I see him click on a video and I know what's about to come.

A video of me fills the screen. Its from when I was thirteen years old. I'm singing "Kiss you" by One Direction to my cardboard cutout of Josh. After the videos over, Josh falls over laughing. I feel my cheeks get hot.

"I love it. You were so cute when you were younger. I love your dance moves too." Josh says the starts dancing.

"Shut up! I was thirteen okay? My friends and I were crazy fan girls." I yells giggling a bit. Josh stops dancing and grabs my cheek with his hand.

"So you don't want to kiss me?" He asks.

"Actually. I do not. I'm going to bed." I say in a sarcastic tone before walking to the stairs. Josh runs over and scoops me up. I just look at his eyes.

"Well. I definitely want to kiss you." He explains. Before I can answer Josh closes the distance between us. I relax and enjoy it. Josh pulls away.

"Oh. Forgot to tell you. We're going to be on Ellen tomorrow." He says like no big deal.

"What?" I ask.
