The Unexpected Deception

Chapter 28

Lisa's POV

"What the hell do you think you are doing?!" I shouted as I watched that boy beat the shit out of Zayn. We were in this classroom. The bell rang. I told Zayn we had to go to our classes but he pulled me back playfully. Just then this... this 'kid' just come in, throws Zayn to the ground and starts to beat him. Needless to say a crowd was already gathered there, at the doorstep. Watching.

"Stop!" I shouted.

"Bryce! Man! Have you gone out of your mind?!" Zayn managed to say between the punches to his face. Bryce? The hell?

"What are you doing?! Freaking stop it!" I shouted again.

"What is wrong with you Bryce?! Stop it!" Zayn shouted to the guy and tried to push him away. He didn't listen and continued beating Zayn. Tears started rolling down my cheeks, all the people from the crowd were watching like spectators and not helping at all. Then I saw Niall and Harry. They moved forward and tried to separate them from each other. Niall was tying to help Zayn get away and Harry on the other side was pulling the guy beating Zayn.

While trying to separate them, Harry received a punch to his nose and it started bleeding. Harry wiped the blood away and a few seconds later, they finally managed to separate them. Without losing time, I rushed towards Zayn and looked at his bruises. He had bruises on his arms, his left cheek. The other guy had bruises near his right eye and on his hand also. What just happened?

"What do you think you were doing?!" Niall said to 'Bryce'. There was so much anger in Bryce's eyes that it could even burn pretty much everything in this classroom. Then I saw Logan, one of the popular guys of this school, come in.

"C'mon man, let's get you out of here," he said and started dragging Bryce out.

"Look Logan, tell your buddy to stop messing around with Lisa. She is not his type. Bryce you better go look out for your girls," Niall said. Could you not leave it simple Niall? Dang it! Everyone was about to clear out. I turned to see if Zayn was doing alright when I heard a sudden bang! Niall hit the floor from Bryce's punch.

"I was looking out for MY girl! I was protecting Lisa!" Bryce shouted.

At that moment, it seemed as if time stopped. Everybody stopped dead in their tracks. All the gossiping, shouting, everything came to a sudden halt.

Bryce snatched a necklace from his neck and threw it on the floor, breaking the silence. He rushed out the door. The necklace landed near my feet. With trembling hands, I bent down to pick it up. What I saw...

"BRYCE STOP!" I shouted at the top of my hands and ran out the door following him. Not caring what was happening behind my back, I ran. I reached the exit just to see his car hitting the road at full speed. I fell to my knees. Oh my God.

I heard running footsteps behind me but I could not make a single move. I could see Zayn talk to me but it was as if I could not hear anything. Blood was dripping from his cut lip. Zayn shook me but I could not respond. All I could think was... After all this I finally get to see and now he is gone. The memories came back. First the beautiful ones then the worst ones. Bryce going away. Dad forcing him to get into the car and all that mom and I could do was watch. I felt so helpless. I could be reliving it now. I felt myself holding on tighter and tighter the pendant in hands. Gripping harder and harder. Not to let. Not anymore. I am going to get my brother back. Best Bro Ever.

As my thoughts got a bit clearer, I saw Niall talking to Zayn. Maybe explaining.

"Yes Zayn, I'm hundred percent sure. Got to the nurse's now!" With that being said, Zayn started to distant himself, slowly.
