I listened to the click of my black boots hitting the floor as I strutted down the hallway.

I felt the glare of girls burning a hole in my back making a smile twitch at the corners of my mouth. I stopped glancing behind me and made eye contacted with a freshman staring at me.

Her eyes widened in fear obviously having heard of what I was capable of. I shot her a grim smile watching as she gasped and ran away.

Feeling pride wash over me, I kept walking letting my heels make a loud clacking noise. I wanted everyone knowing I was on the move, I loved the fear etched in people's eyes.

I held my head high as I saw boys stare, I was use to it. Being 5'8 with goddess-like legs and piercing blue eyes that contrasted against my tan skin and brown hair.

I stopped at my locker spinning the dial I opened it grabbing my leather jacket out throwing it over my red top and shoved my phone into my tight black pants.

I turned around noticing girls checking their makeup and brushing their hair. I rolled my eyes knowing who about to walk through the door.

Jayden Bradley stepped through the door as the wind blowed his hair making it fall in his face.

I heard girls swoon as I rolled my eyes and cut him off stepping in front of him continuing my strut. I felt someone tap my shoulder and I glanced around to be greeted by a cheerful Jayden.

"Hey, Shelby is it? Shelby Carter? I know you've went here for years, but I haven't ever got a chance to talk to you before. I'm Jayden." He smiled cheerfully.

"What are you the welcome wagon? Wipe that smile off your face no one in their right mind is that fuckin' chipper in the mornin."

My reply had the desired affect and he dropped back shocked at my words as he gapped at me like a fish out of water.

"Close your mouth pretty boy, you might catch a fly," I smirked walking off knowing everyone was watching.

I don't really understand why everyone thinks he's so gorgeous. I mean his eyes were heart stopping and his messy brown hair made even girls envious, but he wasn't muscular. He wasn't scrawny through either, maybe they saw something behind the brown orbs I didn't.

I walked into class watching every head snap up watching me as I took my seat in the back row.

The rest of school pasted in a blur, I was currently walking to my silver brand new Chevrolet Cruise. I know that isn't really a badass car, but it was my baby.

I rounded the driver side and saw someone leaned against my door. I groaned internally, I needed to get home. I had to relieve the babysitter at 4 and I didn't have time to chitchat.

Clint Bayes smirked at me and looked me up and down as I stopped in front of him.

"I don't have time for this Clint," I stated frustrated.

"Come on baby don't be like that," he said stroking my arm, "I wanted to know why you mouthed off to my boy Jayden this morning?"

He didn't exactly phase it like a question, but it was intended. I rolled my eyes frustrated at the question.

"Whatever, I don't have time for this petty crap. Get out of my way before I rip the poor pathetic little things you call balls off."

He didn't seem surprised at all, he knew me better than Jayden did. Unlike Jayden, this isn't the first time I talked to Clint. We had tons of classes together since I moved here when we were in 8th grade. Being Juniors we had gotten to know each others personalities well.

"Look he is flipping our because you was so hateful. I know that is your typical behavior, but Jay has never been treated like that. He thinks you don't like him."

I laughed loudly holding my sides, "that's so pathetic, oh well. I really need to go."

I pushed him out of my way slamming my door and pulling out of the parking lot. I turned up the radio and followed the road I have been down dozens of times.

When I made it home it was five minutes before I had to relieve the babysitter. I walked inside and she spit something off in Spanish and ran out nodding her head as she went.

I walked upstairs into her bedroom and saw the gorgeous little baby laying in the crib. I leaned over smiling at her as she looked up at me and her blue eyes that mirrored mine shown with happiness.

"Hey Layla, how are you doing today?" I asked smiling broadly at her.

She giggles drooling on herself making me laugh. I picked her up putting her up holding her in my arms as I made my way downstairs to the kitchen.

As I passed the front door it rang I opened it to be greeted by Jayden. Oh lord this is going to be interesting.
