***There are some POV changes*****

**Shelby’s POV

I laughed harder holding my sides as tears streamed down my face. I leaned against Dean’s side trying to stay sitting on the couch. I heard Antonio belt out again, “This girl is on fire!”  I covered my mouth as Dean poked my side eyeing my.

I couldn’t help it, if you saw a grown ass man singing Alicia Keys, not very well, you would be laughing too. Lacey jumped up beside him and sang along, I giggled at them. There was no doubt they were smashed, their hang out as going to be a bitch that is for sure.

“Come on Shelby! Sing with us!” Lacey shouted making me cringe.

“No thank you, I’m having a pleasurable time watching you two.”

“Party pooper!” Antonio cried.

Lacey grabbed my hand and jerked me from my seat, “Come on! It’ll be fun.”

I turned to look at Dean with my eyebrows knitting together. He shrugged his shoulders ‘they’re drunk’ he mouthed to me. I took a deep breath and looked at Lacey’s hopeful eyes, “Fine.”

“Yay! We’ll do a duet,” Antonio said leaning down to change the song.

The soft music filled the room and I felt my apprehension bubble in my chest. Antonito brought the microphone to his mouth and sang, “You tell all the boys no, Makes you feel good, yeah I know you’re out of my league, but that won’t scare me away oh no. You’ve carried on so long; you couldn’t stop if you tried it. You’ve built your wall so high, that no one could climb it.”

I felt Dean’s eyes on my back and I knew he was thinking the same thing I was. This song was explained us, he wanted to know why I had changed and how I had changed.

The chorus started and I knew my part was coming up, “But I’m gonna try! Would you let me see beneath your beautiful? Would you let me see beneath your perfect? Take it off now girl; Take it off now girl, I wanna see inside. Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight?” he sang

I took a deep breath preparing myself and let my voice fill the room, “You let all the girls go, Makes you fell good. Don’t it? Behind your Broadway show, I heard a voice say please don’t hurt me. You’ve carried on so long; you couldn’t stop if you tried it. You’ve built your walls so high that no one could climb it. But I’m gonna try! Would you let me see beneath your beautiful? Would you let me, see beneath your perfect? Take it off now boy, Take it off now boy, I wanna see inside, would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight?”

“ I’m gonna climb on top your ivory tower,” Antonio and I sang together, “I’ll hold your hand and then we’ll jump right out. We’ll be falling, falling, but that’s okay.”

Our voices blended together in perfect harmony I knew Antonio could sing. He had just being having fun earlier, but I was shocked at how he seemed to really feel and understand the words. Almost like they were speaking to him also.

“I’ll be right here,” Antonio, sang, “I just wanna know, would you let me see beneath your beautiful?”

We sang together, “Would you let me see beneath your perfect? Take it off now girl take it off now girl ‘Cause I wanna see inside. Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight? Oh tonight, would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight?”

As my chest rose and fell I felt a smile grace my face. I never wanted to sing professionally, but I loved feel of the words rolling off my tongue creating beauty. I looked at Lacey and she was staring at me dumbfounded, I felt my cheeks burn in embarrassment.
