It's already 2 in the morning when Maine finally reach the floor of her unit. It's been a very tiring yet fulfilling day for her, she sighed as soon as she laid her eyes on door. Maine search for her keys but realize that she doesn't need that one tho, her unit is open.
"Maybe Dean's laziness hit him again and decided to spent his night here instead." she thought.
So without any hesitations she went inside and got surprise by the fairy lights that was surrouding her. Maine look around in amusement as she continue making her tracks. Rose petals were also scattered around as God Gave Me You plays on the background. She beamed as soon as her eyes met his, he moved closer without breaking the gaze handed her a bunch of red roses that she gladly took.
"anong nakain mo?" she asked with a stifle laugh. "the last time I check it's not our monthsary or anniversary. Hindi mo rin birthday at mas malabong birthday ko. Hindi rin valentines."
RJ chuckled. "walang okasyon. Masama bang iparamdam sayo kung gaano ka kahalaga sakin?"
That question cause her heart to jump. RJ's sweet bones hit again and as always it caught her off guard.
"seriously? at this time of the day?" she retorted.
Instead of answering her sarcasm, RJ just flashed the smile that would swoon the whole nation.
Maine just rolled her eyes to shrug the giddiness that eating her system.
"may I have this dance?"
Maine giggled. "as if I have a choice."
"you should answer me with a yes, babe."
Maine rolled her eyes and lazily mumbled "yes."
RJ shook his head in amusement. He definitely missed this girl, all the effort is worth it. As long as Maine is with him, he knows he can conquer everything. Both of them sway to the tune of GGMY while exchanging stories about their respective work that day. RJ suddenly enveloped her into hug but still they're slow dancing. He's tired and sleepy but having her in his arms boost his energy as if he can do another mall show then another one then another. Maine smiled against his chest enjoying the calm beat of his heart. She really loves it when RJ hugs her not because she can drown herself from his scent or feel his very toned body pressed against hers, of course she likes that who wouldn't? but more than the overflowing love, she feels very safe in his arms and it completely calms her soul. They're being too sweet with each other and it's 2:30 in the morning but who cares? there's no rule stating that you can't be sweet during this time of the day. Maine wandered her sight around the whole setup, it's amazing how RJ was able to pull off this whole thing despite of being so tired and having so little time to prepare.
"who's in his right mind will randomly do all of this despite of those circumstances?" she mentally asked.
"RJ."
"hmm?" he answered hugging her even tighter.
Maine smiled when she realized she mumbled it out loud.
"I love you." she said almost whispering.
"I love you too." then kiss her forehead.
RJ adjusted himself a little bit to get a full view of her face. "you look tired babe, I'm sorry for prolonging your agony." he uttured and kiss the tip of her nose.
"don't be sorry. I can handle."
"pero kung hindi ako nagpunta rito natutulog ka na ngayon." RJ shyly stated. "sorry, I wanted to see you badly."
Maine laughed. "kasalanan na pala ngayon na gustuhing makita ang girlfriend?"
"siguro."
Maine sighed. "babe, thank you. Thank you for this. I appreciate it, a lot."
"anything for you." then he sealed her lips with his. "anything."
"dito ka na matulog." she said with a smile. "you're tired and sleepy. I won't let you to drive yourself home and if my parents would learn about this they will get mad at me for letting the very tired RJ go.
RJ is about to utter something but Maine cut her. "also, my sisters would propably kill me plus I don't want tito to worry. It's better for the two of us if you stay. No more buts."
"fine." RJ said in defeat and put his arms around her.
"I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life with you even though you're so stubborn"
"dapat lang." RJ said as he poke her forehead. "cause you're spending the rest of your life with me, Nicomaine and for the record mas matigas kaya ulo mo."
"whatever basta panindigan mo yan pinagsasabi mo, walang bawian."
"sino naman nagsabi sayong babawiin ko? may paninidigan kaya 'to."
