Hello again. :) My aunt's hanging in there, but she does have pneumonia in one lung now and got moved back to ICU over the weekend. Leaving her there was the first time I ever thought "This is most likely the last time I'm going to see so and so alive." That's a sobering thought. Do not take your loved ones for granted. Make sure the last words you say to all the relatives you'll see over the holidays are "I love you." She sounded like she was doing a bit better when we talked to my uncle on the phone yesterday, but the cynic in me won't let me get my hopes up just yet.
PSA: Don't turn to alcohol to drown your sorrows, ever (why my aunt's health started going down in the first place). It wrecks your liver eventually (sometimes sooner rather than later) and puts your family through hell. Just don't do it. I'm not against drinking, personally. I've toasted at friends' weddings and so on. For more than half of the world's history alcoholic beverages were safer to drink than ground water, but too much of even a good thing does not end well.
On a less depressing note, I'm back home now and have made good progress on chapter 39. :) It's a slightly nostalgic chapter so far. Now we come to the main purpose of this author's note. Tell me what your favorite moments from Mianite Season 1 were. They may make it into the chapter I'm working on. ;)
