The song for this chapter is "Don't Wake Me" by Skillet. I originally had this chapter planned to be much more of a feelz trip, but that was before Amniosis. I kinda felt bad about everything Wag went through, and wanted to make it up to him. (This author has a heart?! Shocking, I know.)

*Waglington's POV*

I awoke to someone elbowing me in the side. I must have dosed off. I looked around and found myself leaning back against a rock facing the calm sea and the warm sunrise. Where am I again? I thought as I stretched my arms over my head.

"Wag, you're supposed to be catching the fishes, not sleeping with them." Jordan laughed where he sat beside me. I looked around and realized I was outside our campsite. We had been on our way to a city called Urulu. Sonja, Tucker, and Tom had stayed up rather late and refused to roll out of their sleeping bags this morning. So Jordan and I had decided to fish up some breakfast while they slept.

"Oh...Right, sorry," I said, picking my rod out of a crevice it had fallen into. We were sitting on a pile of boulders that had fallen from the cliff behind us to form a natural jetty. It made an excellent spot for fishing. "I'm just lulling them into a false sense of security," I said before casting.

Jordan laughed and reeled his line in. "Dang it!" He yelled when he saw that all he'd caught was a tangle of seaweed. He scowled and grumbled as he picked the sopping stuff off his hook.

I chuckled as I watched my bobber. I heard footsteps on the shingle behind us and looked over my shoulder. Martha and Ianite had come to join us. "Good morning, ladies!" I waved at them.

"Waggles," Martha said with a smile. She climbed the rock pile and sat beside me, purposely bumping me with her shoulder. I almost dropped my fishing rod again, and Martha laughed. Oh, I loved that sound more than anything in the world.

Ianite greeted us as well, but I didn't hear her clearly. The sound of the waves lapping against the rocks diminished, and I thought I heard someone faintly calling my name. I shook my head and focused back on here and now, blocking out the phantom voice. I yawned to pop my ears, and the sounds around me returned to normal.

I looked sideways at Martha, careful not to let her notice. I took in every flawless detail in the morning sunlight. For some reason, it felt like I might not get to see her again. I was so distracted by the beauty beside me that I didn't notice Jordan sneak up behind me. Suddenly a huge—still live and flopping—sea bass was tossed on my lap. "And drop the bass!"

I shoved the slimy, scaly thing off of me back into the ocean, nearly knocking Martha off our rock with it. Meanwhile Jordan and Ianite laughed hysterically. I rolled my eyes and laughed with them; Martha joined in as well. I stopped as the skyline suddenly tilted at an odd angle. I felt disoriented and heard the voice from earlier again. It was much clearer this time. "Waglington, wake up!"

Martha, my friends, and the shoreline were fading into misty grey as I watched. "No! Martha!" I tried to reach towards her, but she and the scene were moving away from me.

"Waglington, you're dreaming. Wake up!" I recognized the voice now. That didn't stop me from fighting as Dianite dragged me back to the waking world, the world where Martha would never be mine.

I snapped my eyes open and immediately closed them again. After blinking a few times, they finally adjusted to the light. I propped myself up on my elbows and looked around, squinting. I could see Memento sitting at the foot of the bed, watching me closely, and I could sense Dianite hovering nearby. I was in Martha's house. Martha.

My dream came crashing back like a breaker wave, and I lay my head back on my pillow. I could still hear the waves and her laughter. "Boyo, don't be sad. You can still woo Martha. I might even be able to give you some pointers," Dianite said suggestively, trying to cheer me up.
