Hello, lovelies! First, how has this gotten 700 views already? My mind is blown. O.o Second, it's OC time! :D Not all of the OCs are in this chapter, but don't worry. There will be plenty more flashbacks (and not flashbacks) for them to appear in, and some of the OCs mentioned in passing will be fully introduced later. I've had far too much fun working with these OCs. Thank you all for introducing us. :) Third, if you haven't watched any of FyreUK's build videos, they did a wizard city build called Laenadur that was spectacular. (It's featured in their minecon vid on their channel if you want to see it.)

Now we rejoin our favorite wiz... Ok, Wag is still unconscious. Looks like he's dreaming though, and it's a flashback.

*Wag's POV* ~Flashback~

My brothers and I stood in the front hall of Fyre HQ on the raised platform in front of the build order station, looking out over the gathered apprentices as the stragglers walked, flew, or teleported to join their friends. Seeing that everyone was now present, Tom called to get their attention, "Students, we have an announ..." He stalled out as an animated paper crane flew gracefully across the hall. The din had not subsided.

Winter stepped forward from her position at the back of the platform with the other wizards, a look of amusement curling her lips and twinkling in her dark blue right eye—a medical patch rested over her left—as she glanced at Tom for a nod of approval before assisting. "Silence!" She spoke in a loud, but calm, voice and shot a bolt of lightning at the paper crane, instantly turning it to ash and snowflakes. That did the trick; the students ceased their joking and gossiping. All eyes were now on my brothers and I. Winter turned wordlessly to retake her place, her tailcoat and black and white dress twirling behind her with her long, white hair as she went.

Tom cleared his throat and started again, as Matt hid a snicker behind his hand—he would be sure to tease Tom for this later. "Students, we have an announcement to make. As you may have guessed, our building tour in the realm of Mianite has drawn to a close. We will be embarking soon for a new location. However," he quickly added as some of the apprentices began to mutter amongst themselves, "we have exhausted our studies in this dimension. My brothers and I feel it is time to embark to a new dimension to further our building and magical research." Now excited whispers raced through the crowd below us.

We gave them a few moments to settle before Phil picked up where Tom had left off. "We know some of you are close to taking your final magic examination and graduating, and others may want to remain in this world at the college. You have all done marvelously and satisfied your building magic and study abroad requirements. If you don't wish to accompany us on this journey, a representative from Laenadur will be stopping by tomorrow to escort you back to the college. Keep in mind that once we are in the new realm, we have no guarantee as to when you may return."

Everyone knew that jumping headfirst into a new world was risky. It was the first thing they taught apprentices in teleportation and ender magic studies. You never knew for certain how your magic worked in a new world until you'd arrived or if the connection between worlds was stable, cyclical, or transient. What enticed my brothers and I into making the leap was the prospect of new magical arts to study. The dimension we had in mind had recently become close enough to our own that Phil and I had been able to sense the unfamiliar magic radiating from it. Our thirst for knowledge was insatiable and had fueled many moves before this one, and would surely fuel many more to come.

Since we'd only recently detected the dimension, we knew the connection was not a stable one. The question was whether this connection was a one time thing or would recur at some point in the future, thus allowing our students and colleagues to return to their homes. We also did not know how long the connection would remain stable enough for a proper bridging. We would be leaving quickly, before this new dimension vanished back into the void between realms.
