"Really, you want to become a Christian?" Lincoln asked.
"I think so," I said, still a bit unsure. Then my face broke into a smile and I confirmed, "Yes, I want to."
"That's great! Do you need help?"

"Oh, you just pray. Like this." He clasped his hands and closed his eyes in demonstration. "Repeat after me. Dear God."
"Dear God," I repeated.
"I know that I am a sinner." I repeated that. "I believe that you sent your Son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins." That, too. "I ask that you'd come into my life and be my Savior." I said that, meaning it with all my heart. Then we both said 'amen.'
I opened my eyes and smiled wide.
"Congratulations, Rain!" Lincoln said. He was smiling along with me.
"Thanks."
Even if I was a little unsure of myself, and what all of this truly meant, I was glad to be a part of God's family.
