Today's lunch was fish sticks and hush puppies. Disgusting fried sea junk.

I grabbed a tray and made myself a salad at the salad bar. It wasn't much, but no way was I eating that gross sea food!

"Hey, Rain, wanna sit with me?"

I jumped at the sound of Lincoln's voice. "Dude, you've gotta stop scaring me like that."

"Sorry," he laughed. "But do you want to? Me and my friends are sitting over there." He pointed to a group of people, mostly guys.

I didn't think I was confident enough to sit with a whole table full of boys I didn't know, so I said, "I usually sit with my friends, but you can join us if you want."

"Oh, okay." He smiled and followed me to the table where Emily, Jordyn, Cami, and Blake sat.

"You guys excited for the lake today?" Blake asked.

Oh, right. I'd almost forgotten. But now the adrenaline ran through my veins and I couldn't wait to be out on the water!

"Come on, Rain, let's go get our swimsuits on," Emily said, pulling me out of the cafeteria. We hurried back to the dorm with Cami and Jordyn in tow and put on our suits.

Jordyn was wearing an orange one-piece with blue Hawaiian flowers on it. "Wow, even your swimsuit is your team color," I commented, impressed.

"Yeah, I go all out," she replied.

We grabbed our swimming essentials (towels, sunscreen, flip-flops, sunglasses, etc.) and went outside to find the lake. It was no more than half a mile away, and there was a big boating dock waiting for us.

A staff member named Ed was seated in the speed boat, holding a few life jackets. "Put these on," he instructed. We did as we were told. "Is there anyone else coming with you?"

"Blake and Lincoln should be joining us soon," Emily replied.

My knees turned to Jell-o at the sound of Lincoln's name. He was coming? On the boat? With me? Did he want to kill me with those impossibly good looks?

Soon enough, the boys arrived. Lincoln was shirtless and wearing aqua swim trunks. Okay, I was officially dead. Someone arrange the funeral, please.

"Hey, guys," he said in that smooth, deep voice of his.

Kill me. Kill me now, I thought. Then, Jesus, Rain! Get a grip!

"Hey, Lincoln," Jordyn replied with a smile.

"Is this everyone that's coming with you?" Ed, the driver, asked.

"I think so," Emily told him.

"Wait!" called a voice from down the dock.

I strained my neck to see who it was. As the person got closer, I felt my heart sink into my chest. My blood began to boil. No, it couldn't possibly be her.

But it was. "Megan?"
