Today's sermon was about God creating the sky. So basically he created light and dark...without there being a sky? How was this supposed to make sense?!
After the session, I decided it was time to speak my mind. "Emily? Can I talk to you?" But as I was about to ask my questions, I suddenly felt stupid. I didn't want her to feel bad for inviting me, a person who didn't understand what the pastor was teaching on.
"What is it?" she asked.
I racked my brain for a good excuse to end the conversation. "I was just gonna ask you what's after the session." Nice save.
"Oh, now we have game time! It's gonna be really fun. But make sure you have a swimsuit or something on, 'cause we'll be getting wet."
"Okay."
"Want me to walk back to the room with you?"
"Nah, that's okay. I can change alone." She handed me the room key and I hurried across campus to the dorms. As soon as the door unlocked, I pushed it open and collapsed onto my bed. This was too much.
How was I supposed to focus on meeting new people and playing games when I had all these questions up in my head? I really needed to talk to someone who would understand.
But who?
