Chapter 7

Natsumi's POV 

I finally made my way over to Mikado, after shoving through a ginormous amount of people. 

Mikado stood there sighing, looking sadder than I have ever seen him. 

He wasn't facing me, so I poked his shoulder. "What do you want?!" he said unpleasantly, then turned around. "Oh, Natsumi, I-I'm sorry." 

I grinned at him. "Well then, I see how it is. I come over here to see if you'd fancy me a dance!" I put my hands on my hips. 

Mikado started laughing. "Well, if only we can go romancing afterwards!" 

I started getting closer to him, as I said, "We'd be terrible English people." 

I put my hands around his neck, and he put his hands on my waist. "I know." 

A slow song started playing, and I rested my head on Mikado's shoulder. I saw in the corner of my eye Lorella dancing with Masaomi, and she gave me a thumbs up. 

I laughed, then lifted my head up and gave her a thumbs up back. I sighed of happiness, then put my head back. 

"Mikado, I don't remember the last time I felt so happy... so peaceful..." 

Mikado tilted my head up and smiled at me. "I know exactly how you feel." 

We started leaning our heads in, about to kiss. When we got close, our noses hit each other. 

"Ow..." I moaned. 

"That didn't go as I planned..." Mikado laughed. 

"It was still perfect, though." I couldn't stop smiling. "Everything is perfect. You're perfect. Tonight is perfect. It could not be more perfect!" 

I finally know how Lorella feels, how she's so happy with Masaomi, how they ended up together so happily. Mikado and I are like that now, and I prefer it that way. 

"I've been waiting for this forever..." I said in a hushed voice. "I'm glad I could spend this moment with you, Mikado..." 

"I wouldn't want to be with anyone else right now, Natsumi." 

I felt like I was in a whole different world. It was like an absolutely perfect dream, where everything goes your way. I always thought I'd never have my happy ending, but I guess I finally did.
