Ok so besides like Wattpad and Kik I don't own any social media accounts.
Yeah like not even a Tumblr... :0 *gasp*
I swear I'm normal.
Nearly all of my family is on Instagram, and since I'm still a minor and "someone that needs to be cared for"*cough cough, they want to make sure I'm still not with my ex*. My family for sure will stalk me and try to friend me if i make my own profile which will be really awkward and weird when they see my online shrine to MCR and kinky gay smut. I guess I could block them... but come on! Can your really do that to your own mom?
I only own Wattpad since you can't read stories and get constant updates on here without one (and it's the only site my family isn't on). Also unlike those other sites where haters judge you solely based on appearance, here on Wattpad nobody really cares about what you look like. As long as you post really good stories and you find people who share the same fandoms as you it's all good. The other one I use, Kik is something I barely use but... Idk it's the only way I can reach my BFFS at all times and talk about Kellic in group chats (#Victops2k15)
Second off, you know those PSA commercials where they're like "The Internet is a bad bad place where pedos lurk and people steal your identity"? Yeah, they REALLY worked on me. I know that anyone with basic common sense and privacy settings will be just fine but the paranoia is so strong that there is always that small feeling that there's someone just waiting to Catfish me.
And the last reason that really is the main reason... I'm already a cell phone addict! When I'm not Wattpad, I'm on Buzzfeed or playing Kim K (anyone who plays that game knows that it's nearly life consuming) my phone is pretty much what my life revolves around these days and I just really really don't need another reason to have my it glued to my hands 24/7. Or another distraction from things that actually are important... like homework.
Maybe I'll change my mind in a year or two, who knows? But until that hapens you'll only see @lights_and_sounds on Wattpad.
