"Brother, I can explain-"

"First off, It's King Maxon to you, second, we are only half siblings, and lastly, you don't get the privilege of explaining. You lost that and the day you and father betrayed me and mother."

I looked straight at my half sister, she flinched as soon as she heard my words and looked back at me with hurt in her eyes. I can't see her like this, it reminds me too much of when America was sad and hurt during the selection.

I have to find her, she'll understand my pain, she'll make everything alright, she has to. She's my dear, my love, my everything.

I find her reading in the garden, but she stops as soon as she sees me.

"The prisoner isn't Erica or Andre, but Katelyn?"

"As much as it pains me, yes it is Katelyn. But, she looks hurt, or looked hurt and I denied her the privilege of explaining herself."

"I wish to speak with her. I know you are about to say no, or, absolutely not, or, some other version of no, like, I forbid it, or something like that, but listen to me. I know you trust me. I know you came looking for me because you trust me to make you feel better and that's exactly what I'm going to do. Just let me see her alone."

"Fine but I'm sending officer Leger with you."

"Ok, dear."

I noticed how she used my nickname for her on me in attempts to cheer me up, "So you can call me dear, but I can't call you that?" And what can I say, it worked.

"Correct."

"So what can I call you then?"

"Your feisty red head," she said then beamed at me and started walking into the palace.

I noticed she knows exactly where she's going. I see a guard in the hall and sent him to get officer Leger.

"America, don't go inside until officer Leger gets here."

"Yes, dear."

I can honestly say this is probably a record for how much I typed this morning. Sorry for the wait, I had semester exams so now I'm out on Christmas break.
