11. Reflection in the Water

The man who had been following me for the past who knows how long was not just a "creep".

He was Killian Jones, and somehow he teleported from the Enchanted Forest to Storybrook... and he stopped to see me.

And the worse part is, is that I am more afraid than ever. Because now there is no curse to ensure our separation, no excuse to give for why he couldn't be with me. Well, except for me saying that I was meant to be alone... which I didn't want to be true.

However, a question lingered in my head; Were we meant to love each other or destroy each other?

All I knew was that I would have to figure out how I felt soon, because he was looking for me, and apparently I cannot escape him.

And here I stood, frozen at the docks, unsure of where to go. So I stood there, and I stared into the water, wishing there would be an answer.

All I received were more complications as Killian's face appeared next to mine in the reflection in the water.

"Kit."

My breath caught in my throat, and I was actually considering diving into the water (however, my clothing was way to pricey to sacrifice to the salt water).

"Please don't run again,"his voice pleaded behind me, each word seeming more weighted than the last.

Slowly I turned, my bottom lip quivering out of fear.

He stood to my right, his shoulder nearly touching mine.

"Hello, Hoo- Killian."

Turning to face me, Killian said,"I'm sorry about what happened in the library."

Nervously giggling under my breath, I replied,"It's okay, I think. The librarian was an evil wench from the Enchanted Forest anyways..."

He let out a heavy laugh, his smirk practically radiating from it.

"Can we start again?" He asked, desperation cutting through his voice like a knife.

The one question that you've been the most scared of, and for what reason?

"Hook, I can barely think- my mind is on overload right now. I need time to think and process-"

"So that you can avoid me for longer, avoid the question...,"he interrupted. "What are you so afraid of?"

Killian's jaw, dusted with stubble, was clenched, like he was holding himself back from something. His fists were also clenched, and I had to question if he wanted to punch me or not.

Grudgingly I answered,"All of the ways I could destroy you, just because I know no other ways. That's what I'm afraid of."

We stood there in a silence that wasn't necessarily awkward but also not pleasant.

"Mhm..." he groaned, rolling over what I said in his mind.

I could feel his eyes on mine, and I knew there was allot he wanted to say that I would not be able to handle. 

"What is it? Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked him exasperatedly.

Hook's eyes widened before they narrowed, and he smirked.

"How about I just... show you."

Then his arms were around me like the claw in those claw games, and I felt like I could just stop trying to resist whatever it was I was resisting and just let things happen. And I did.

I let it all go, and Killian looked down at me, eyebrows raised.

"Are you going to let me?"

"I-I think so..."

First I felt some flicks from his chocolate brown hair brush my forehead, and then I could actually feel his forehead press against mine. Then the tip of his nose barely bumped mine as the stubble from his soft mustache rubbed against my upper lip.

And he was kissing me, and I realized that everything I was denying was plain old ridiculous.

I could love Killian Jones and not fuck it up, and that is what I was going to do, no matter how many curses get in my way.
