Where to Hide a Van?

Pic above: Christian (played by Faith Lehane, aka Eliza Dushku).

The night of my library charade was spent at the Sheriff's Office reporting the horrifying incident of that day. After I reported what I knew, the Sheriff took a crew to check out the library while I waited safely inside his locked office.

When he got back there was no good news; this killer who dressed like a pirate was long gone, leaving no evidence behind and the librarian was, of course, stone dead. The only thing the Sheriff brought back was the storybook I had thrown at Hook as I was running from him, and even that was of no help because his picture was ripped out.

In the end I went back to my van, feeling very unsafe and unsure of what to do next.

As I slid open the back door, I was greeted by Christian's grinning face and wild hair. "Dude, where've you been? The pizza I got you was starting to get cold!"

Instantly feeling better after this strange day, I beamed back at Christian, replying,"It's a loooonnngg story, which I really need to tell you."

Pulling my inside, Christian sat me down, throwing a plate of pizza in my hand and resting her head on her hand. "Spill."

Just as I was opening my mouth, she interrupted me. "Wait! There is something I need to tell you before I forget. Some guy stopped by saying he was an old friend of yours? I didn't get a name, but he asked me where he could find you so you guys could meet up again. I told him you would be at the library... did you meet him?"

My heart froze as did time, and I stared at Christian's  clueless face in absolute fear.

Once a minute of slow time passed, Christian started shaking me.

"Kat! Kat? Dude?"

"Is the car locked?" I asked her gruffly, my throat scraping with dryness.

She looked at me quizzically,"huh?"

Shoving her aside, I hit the lock button as hard as I could.

"Dude, quit flipping your shi-"

"Just shut your mouth for a second!" I yelled at her.

After a moment of stunned silence as I tried to regain my chill, I spoke up, my voice trembling,"Was he wearing a pirate outfit?"

Scrunching her eyebrows, she replied timidly,"Yeah, I guess he was... I guess I just chalked it up to him being one of your cosplay friends?"

"That man killed the librarian, and I have no clue who he is. He pretends to know me..."

"What?"

"I was in the library today, reading this book called Once Upon a Time. It was sticking off the shelf oddly, and I guess I was... Drawn to it. I opened it to a random page and there he was-or at least, someone who looked similar to him. The book said he was- well- Captain Hook. After I finished reading a little about him, the guy just kinda showed up, asking if I knew him and all that crap. Then he chased me..."

"I think he wanted me to read that page, Christian. It was no coincidence...  He thinks I'm a character from the book, maybe... Maybe he's got this disorder that makes him all delusional? The way he looked at me- it's like he new me or something."

Then it hit me- the story book- it said something about this chick who "softened his heart".

"The book- it said something about this girl, who softened his heart,"I said with air quotes,"Maybe this pirate dude is looking for her? But, why would he think she's me?" I looked into Christian's grey eyes, praying there would be some type of answer within those complicated iris'. Well, of course, there wasn't any magic answer.

"Ah! I got it!" Christian yelped in awe, snapping her fingers with her hands in the air. I looked at her in excitement, ready to hear her "magic answer". After a minute of her smiling at me all goofy in silence, I raised my eyebrow and asked,"Well?"

"Okay, so, we need to look at the book and see what it says about the girl? Maybe there's a picture, and we could, like, figure out who he's looking for?" She said triumphantly, looking at me for a reaction.

"The book is at the Sheriff's Station..."

"Oh."

I stared down at my pizza, still unsure if we were even safe from this creep. Gingerly chewing at my pepperoni, I thought over what else we could do before tomorrow that would make us safer.

"Well,"I began, still chewing down a piece of pizza,"we should at least move the van to a different location, one that is less obvious so that people can't just see where we are. And maybe a new paint job?"

But that would cost you time and, more importantly, money.

It looked as if Christian was thinking the same thing, because both of her eyebrows were raised in surprise. "Scratch the paint job part... maybe we'll just disguise it with some bushes?"

Christian seemed to agree with that plan as she stuffed her face with some pizza, wiping sauce all over her mouth.

We would be okay.

A/N:

THE MIDSEASON FINALE KILLED ME but I won't say any spoilers for now.... uerhwiuehf.

I know there wasn't much Killian action in this chapter, but do not worry my faithful friends, there will be more romance after the next chapter, which is already ready (but I will make you wait for it bc I am cruel).

ALSO I HAVE A THING I NEED TO SAY

SO

THIS BOOK

THE WRITING

NOT VERY GOOD IN MY OPINION

AT LEAST THE OLDER WRITING

I've been thinking of doing some very constructive editing to the older chapters as well as adding some cool things such as music to each chappie. Any thoughts? This writing may make it so that readers will have to re-read some older stuff so that it all makes sense? EUgh

ALSO

I CHANGED THE COVER AND I THINK IT LOOKS VERY SNAZZY THANK YOU FOR NOTICING

ookay enough with my crazyness- I love you dudes! Have the best holidays you have ever had and feel free to leave a comment or a vote :)
