"Jessica!" Leader of Militum stopped as she heard Rap Monster's call. She turned around and faced him blankly. "Where are you rushing?"
The guy was warmly smiling and she almost felt like grinning. But at the last moment she shook off the thought and coldly gazed the other leader from the same entertaiment almost physically portraying the ice cold storm playing in her heart.
"It's nothing special."
She lied not wanting to involve NamJoon in the girls' bussiness. For the first time she felt not like trusting nobody, but just trusting herself and her abilities. A little voice in her head kept on repeating that if he knew her decision he'd support her choice.
"Then maybe you would like to help me out?" He asked pointing at the door of one of the recording booths. "I need someone to sing with me."
She frowned and avoided his gaze stepping on one foot then on other. She really did felt in the rush and now scolded herself for putting it in the different way.
"I don't sing."
She simply cut off and Rap Monster glanced at her with puppy eyes, seconds later, as she didn't look affacted by that, his expression changed as if he had ate something sour.
"I don't either, but I wish I could."
He said, but for Jessica if felt like he was giving a lecture. She wasn't going to obey him. Not today, not ever.
"That's how we are different, I am never reaching for what isn't meant to be."
Her tone got even colder, but instead of stepping out the conversation NamJoon came in closer and now was standing so close she could feel his breath on her skin.
"You should."
Those few words hit her like a van.
It pierced like an arrow and stabbed like a sword. Yet she just thought of how to get to the Nari faster than she makes a costy stupid mistake."No. Everything has it's place in life, no need to scew it up."
Saying those words the picture of the Militum's girls flashed in front of Jessica's eyes for some reason. They were actually in their places. Doing things they knew how to do best. Jessicas words not only there true, she knew how to prove them. Minah coming up with rap, Yoobi and Juna taking care of choreography, Enna looking after lyrics and Chaejin thinking of the concept. Jessica was in charge. In control. She was leading their way. She was in her element.
"Oh come on, sing for oppa."
NamJoon almost whined and for one second she felt like pitying him, however even that word made her feel like vomitting.
"I would if you were one."
She wasn't going to give in. To him, to company, to anyone. Maybe that one person, that one perticular guy, who managed to shook up her heart back in the day then she really needed support, maybe he would have managed to change her attitude. But he wasn't there and never came to see her. He was the only oppa to her, yet she didn't know who he was.
"But I am."
At first Jessica didn't even hear his words. She glanced at his lips like reading them and just then Namjoon's words reached her.
"No-"
She whispered and it echoed in the empty hallway.
"Yep."
"No!"
She turned around on the heel, but he grabbed her wrist and stopped from moving. From running away. From finding out the truth.
