I walked down the hall to the last door on the right. This was it. I only had a few things, my duffle bag and my backpack, but I would be fine, I knew it. My mom had dropped me off in the parking lot and I had seen a lot of really pretty girls. Back in high school, I had been the senior heartthrob. I had so many girls chasing after me that I just decided not to date. I shook my head slightly and took a deep breath. Inside the dorm, I heard some music playing and lots of shuffling. I knocked on the door, seeing as I had shoved my key into my backpack as soon as it had been distributed to me, and waited. When the door finally swung open an attractive girl was staring me in the face. She had long, unkempt lavender hair, small white gauges in her ears, her second hole occupied by a diamond skull. I looked at her bottom lip, where she had gold snake bites. Her black tank top and dark ripped up jeans made her curves visible. Her eyes were a crystal blue, and I grinned when she started and chirped at me. "Hi!" Her face went slightly pink, but I could tell she didn't notice. I laughed at this, and she joined me. I had a feeling I'd like this school.
"I'm your roommate! I'm Max." I told her, holding out a hand. She shook it softly, like she was afraid she'd break it. "Raven. So, where ya from, Max?" She turned around and turned the music down. "Ohio. Cincinnati actually." I looked at the kids that were playing on the floor, I tilted my head a bit, curious. "Are they yours?" I asked. She looked at me, confused. "What? I'm only 18, they're my brother and sister." She motioned to the little boy. "That's Carter, he's 6, and that's Jessica, she's 10." She ended pointing to the little girl. I nodded in understanding. "So why don't you tell my about yourself, Raven?" I asked, starting to unpack. She laughed. "I'm from Georgia. The little ones are from Alabama. My step moms remarried, my dads dead, my mom is in a mental hospital, and my grandma is in a nursing home." She finished, looking back grinning. "Enough of a story for ya?" I nodded. "Ok! Your turn!" She said, spinning around, having finished unpacking, she plopped into her bed with her chin resting in her hands. "How messed up is your life?" She teased. "Oh you have no idea." I exclaimed and started explaining.
