Raven's POV

Tonight's the night.
December 31st, 2022.
The night I have to make my decision.
I shuffled about my dorm, getting ready for the New Years party on the roof of the school. I eventually just decided on a black, sparkly tank top, a leather jacket, skinny blue jeans, and my gray hightop converse. As I was applying my mascara, which is the only makeup you will see me wearing, I heard the door to my dorm open and Max's voice. "Yeah, yeah. I know, Morgan! I can't make her decision! She's going to choose Nick!" I heard a high pitched mumbling on the other end of the phone. "Oh piss off!" He hung up the phone, dropping it on his bed. I heard him start to shuffle through his closet and start to change. I got onto my phone and saw a text from my older brother, who was away on vacation, Alex.
A-Yo! Sis! Guess what I got you for a happy-belated-birthday present?!?!
R-lol, what Alex?

I put down my phone, smiling like an idiot. I stepped out of the bathroom to see Max fixing his hair. I skipped out the door, only to bump into someone. I looked up a bit and realized who it was. "Ohmygod! Ainsley!" I laughed as I hugged her tightly. "Hey Ray! Look what I made!" She held up a foam board with sparkly letters going across it saying 'TEAM NICK!❤️' I laughed and nudged her arm playfully. We talked all the way to the roof, where a massive party was going on. We danced and danced until, finally, I heard the words. The words that marked the time for me to choose.
Five!
I looked all around for him.
Four!
I finally saw him, chatting with Matt, my brothers friend.
Three!
I ran over to him, almost there...
Two!
Almost! Just a few more feet!
One!
He looks dashing...
Happy New Year!
I slammed my lips into his and he stiffened. I knew he didn't know how to react at first, so I just stayed there for a bit before he smirked and kissed back. I smiled and felt a warm sensation in my stomach. This feels right. I knew that I made the right decision as we pulled away, our foreheads still touching, when I murmured to him.
"I love you, Nick..."
