I ran through the cafeteria chasing my girlfriend, who had my phone. "Give it back!" I yelled, laughing. She jumped like a gazelle as she screamed "Never!" I sped up and grabbed her waist, pulling my phone from her hands. I laughed. "Gottcha babe!" I said in between laughs, kissing her on the cheek. She pouted playfully. "No fair! You cheated!" I smirked and let go of her. This girl was the one I fell in love with in first grade. She was gorgeous, playful, and sweet. I never thought that, when she turned to me with a look of concern in her eyes, what would happen next. "Nick, we need to talk." My smile instantly vanished from my face and my stomach dropped. She looked at the ground while she talked, and I felt tears build in my eyes. When she finally looked up at me, I turned and walked away, sobbing. We were over.
I walked around campus for a few hours, trying to wrap my mind around what had just happened. I was about to just collapse when I bumped into someone. "Oh sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Are you alright?" They asked, completely concerned. I'm guessing they had seen my tears and wanted to know what was wrong. I sniffed and looked up slowly. "Ya I'm fi-" I stopped. There was a shorter girl in front of me, wearing an old hoodie over a black tank top. She had crystal blue eyes and lavender hair. Her ears had small white gauges and a crystal skull in the second hole. Her bottom lip had gold snake bites just under her lip, which looked so soft. This girl wasn't gorgeous, she was just beautiful. I sniffed and couldn't help but stare at her when I replied. "Y-Ya I'm fine. I'm Nick." I held my hand out shyly, hoping she wouldn't see my admiration so clearly. She smirked and shook my hand. "Nice to meet you, Nick. I'm Raven." A shiver went up my spine at the sound of her saying my name. She said it so perfectly that I wanted to hear it forever. "I have to get to class. See ya around?" She smiled. I nodded, laughing softly. "Ya, definitely." And with that she walked away.
