My Roommate and The Boys

Max's POV

I can't believe what happened in the few days after my "date" with Jace.
Raven and August went on a date, & Nick and Delilah went on a date.
I feel so lonely. My date with Jace wasn't even a real date, I don't think so at least. I shook my head as I reached the door to mine and Raven's dorm. I unlocked it and right as I was about to open it, I heard a scream. I rushed inside, afraid of what might have happened. I then saw what was the worst thing I had seen in the crazy year I had been here. There was Raven's dad, hanging from a noose. Even though he was already dead, it seemed he had wanted to disappear completely. I looked at the corner of the room. Raven was curled up into a ball, sobbing. I knelt down next to her. "Shh, it's okay. I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I picked her up and held her against my chest, rubbing her back and stroking her soft, lavender hair. I started to sing a song that she always would whenever I was sad.
Soft kitty,
Warm kitty,
Little ball of fur.
Happy kitty,
Sleepy kitty,
Purr, purr, purr.
She lifted her head up off of my black t-shirt, her eyes red and puffy and her button nose pink and runny. I smiled at her, sadly, grabbing a freshly washed washcloth from the nightstand. I wiped her tear stained cheeks, gently. Then I wiped her puffy eyes. I was about the wipe her nose when she spoke for the first time since the incident. "M-Max..." I stopped what I was doing. "Yes, Ray?" She started to cry again. "T-That's not r-real. T-That's what'll happen-n if I don't ch-choose." My face drained of all its color. If she didn't choose one of us, then her father will die, she'll disappear, and all of us will be heart broken. Suddenly I heard a raspy whisper, and I know that she heard it to from the way she stiffened.

Tick tock, tick tock, the hands of the clock run faster when you don't know what to do. Tick tock, tick tock, your time is running out. Figure it out, the choice is yours, if your time runs out, you shall be cursed to join your father...
