Jesse sat in the room, his sleeves slightly moving as mice and a ferret scurried their way through his suit.
Jesse knew he was an odd man by definition, some people even describing him as the March Hare. He mimicked a look of the Ringleader, but a little more rougher looking. This was often due to the little critters he had squirming round his clothes or in his hat.
A ferret came out of the head of his shirt and hung around him like a scarf.
Jesse wasn't proper magic, but he was good at illusions. He took his hat off to reveal a rabbit sitting on his head nibbling at his hair like grass. "Hey!" he snapped softly, "My hair isn't grass, Gigs, we've been over this." The rabbit stopped nibbling at his hair but remained on his head. Jesse shielded the rabbit with his hat again as some moths wriggled from under his coat and to the light.
The man looked from behind the one way window with raised eye brows, "He hasn't changed at all, has he?"
Jason smiled, "He doesn't like forgetting what he use to be. Some of those animals have been with him longer than he's been here."
The man nodded as he left the Ringleader alone in the room to go talk to the agent.
Jesse leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes for a micro snooze. A small mouse, his oldest friend named Squeak, wobbled on the table with old legs. Jesse frowned as he watched his old friend walk. "On your last legs, huh Squeak?" Jesse asked as he leaned forwards and stroked his back softly. Squeak acted like a young mouse, but in actuality he was almost ten years old.
"Try and stick around for a while longer mate, I'd imagine Kid wouldn't be happy to see you go." Jesse was still patting his mouse when the interviewer walked in.
"Hello Jesse."
Squeak started scurrying around quite suddenly. Jesse rolled his eyes as he basically slapped the mouse into the table with a loud thump. The interviewer jumped in surprise, but when Jesse removed his hand there was no trace of the mouse. "Nice to see you again," Jesse said as he turned in his seat to face them. "I believe you to be the same interviewer as the past one."
The man smirked as he sat down opposite Jesse. "What gives me away?" he asked.
"You smell the same. I'd suggest trying different smells over the years," Jesse explained as he took the ferret off his shoulders. "Experiment, try some variety, works wonders."
The ferret seemed to enjoy the scratch under the chin. "Would you mind sending all your friends away for the moment?" The man was mildly annoyed from the flickering of the light created from the moths flying around it.
Jesse shrugged as he pocketed the ferret and whistled to the moths. They came when called and disappeared in his coat also.
The man raised an eye brow, "Umm... could you send them out of the room?" he requested.
Jesse smiled as he tapped the side of his head, "You can search me all you want, you won't find either of them," he informed. "I'm good at magic tricks and making things disappear. They won't bother you, don't worry. So do you want to begin?" he asked.
The man nodded. "Of course."
Like before, the man set the recording box on the table and turned it on. He readjusted the mic to face Jesse, who examined it with his eyes, and opened a notepad as he looked to Jesse. "Okay. Can I have your name?"
Jesse shrugged, "Sure, why not. My name is Jesse."
"Last name?"
"Wasn't given one."
