Even if they are their own nation, they still have free will. They're representations, not easily manipulated clones.

If they do something you might not be proud of, they were probably obligated to. It may not even be their own decision to do it.

Think about it: if you've lived for centuries like these guys, wouldn't you be more wiser and much more smarter in your own decisions, especially for your country?
