A lot of nations seem to have some sort of craving for relationships, whether platonic, romantic, or sexual, and try to satisfy this by forming them with their people. Of course, these relationships don't last for long. To continue this cycle of sadness, some will actually find them in abusive relationships and won't be able to let go or even notice (due to the desensitization that comes with being actual countries) because they're so desperate for a relationship.
