They all have intense emotions to cope with the fact that they live significantly longer, or at least until their country dissolves. In most cases, it's their emotions driving them, and not their common sense. This explains why they lean on war instead of coming into terms with each other, and why they're easily peer-pressured by their bosses and people to do things they'd normally not want to do.
