Niall POV

Let's just say things were a little tense ever since the hospital debacle.

It has been a week since the incident, and things weren't at all back to normal. After all of the secrets were revealed, Kane got what he wanted; so let all of us go. I didn't miss when he whispered to Liam that he was going to wait till Ember recovered, but he was definitely coming back to get her.

And, Kane didn't seem like the type of person to make false promises.

Ember had been released from the hospital a couple of days ago, and Liam texted me to let me know that she was doing okay. Trinity's leg was in a cast because it was broken in three places, but she would recover in a couple of months. Zayn's shoulder was sprained, and Harry had been on bed rest up until yesterday, but no one seemed to have any lasting injuries.

Well, except for Louis.

Finding out that your wife, who recently came back from the dead, also had a baby with her ex-boyfriend that she never told you about and apparently didn't plan on doing so anytime soon is enough to knock anyone off their feet.

And Louis wasn't just anyone.

After fighting back tears that we all knew were there, Louis said nothing and walked out of the door. That was the scary part. He didn't react at all. He didn't yell at Reagan, didn't curse at Kane for bringing the whole thing up, and didn't even clench his fists like he does when he's even slightly pissed off. He just excused himself and calmly walked out of the room.

Even Reagan knew that that was the worst possible reaction she could've gotten.

I don't know how anyone else felt about the whole situation cause we had all decided to give ourselves some space from each other over the past week, but I wasn't speaking to Reagan. I'd like to think that we had all been pretty understanding about this whole thing surrounding her, but this was enough. I was personally sick of everything Louis and Reagan did, and this was no different.

They could settle it however they chose; I wasn't even going to bother myself with it anymore.

"G, cancel all of my meetings for today. I'm not in the mood."

I didn't hear an affirmative answer like I usually do when I tell my assistant to do something. But, that confusion was short-lived when my office door opened and a very tall brunette walked in with her hair cascading down her face.

"I already canceled your meetings, Niall and I sent everyone home for the day." She stood there, hands on her hips, basically staring through my soul.

"Wha-How did you-?"

"Know?" She finished. "We've been working together for seven years, Niall. I know when you need a day off, and your employees weren't getting anything done either. I sent them home 30 minutes ago."

"Thank you, G," I said, still in shock. I knew she knew me well; it was her job to. But, this was so observant even I was impressed.

"Don't thank me. It's my job." She waved it off and leaned on the corner of my desk. "Where's your daughter?"

"Reagan is with my mum tonight. She didn't get a lot of sleep last night, and neither did I, so my mum is giving me a break."

"Is that why you look so exhausted?"

"I didn't realize I did."

"Niall, there are very prominent bags under your eyes, you've barely said two words to anyone in the building other than me since you came back, and when you actually are here, you don't leave your office. Niall, what's wrong?"
