Kianri let out a sigh as she flopped down on the bed. Her body needed to relax. It had been almost a year ti the day since she had been sent on her mission to discover all about the human civilization, and what makes them tick. She herself had always felt that she should be excused from this ridiculous venture seeing as she had a title and things to do.
What she is stressing about now is the huge event it is to turn a single year older to these humans! All the planning, talking, and smiling is extremely taxing.
'No wonder they only live 85 – 100 years,' She chuckled silently. So far the human life is very boring, same things every day, having to jump through hoops to do the simplest things. In her most recent letter to her father she explained this and the only thing he had to say was what he always had to say. Nothing. Silence. The only reason she was forced to this in the first place was his idea. He thinks the humans show intelligence and endurance while overcoming their setbacks. She most certainly didn't share the same views or interest in the talentless beings.
All she had to do was sit and struggle to be entertained in this tiny house until she can catch a ride in a tiny car somewhere vaguely more entertaining than four walls and a television. 'I must say,' she thought to herself, the television is strangely appealing. 'I guess I can give them something,' Oh but how she longed for the open sky, the vast sea, the rolling plains of her homeland. Whenever she got the chance she turned on the discovery nature channels or the animal planet. Call it being homesick. Half the time she ended up laughing at what little the humans know about their own world. After how many hundreds of years? 'They can hardly call it the discovery channel at all,' Of course 75% of the things that ran through her mind during the day she couldn't say out loud.
"The party is in 2 days Kianri, you need to finalize your guest list and entertainment," Her guardian burst into her room saying in the ridiculously to loud voice many of these humans use. She could have swore in her pre-trip class she learned that you should knock on a door before entering. Maybe her people were mistaken. What was the point of her guardians burst in her privacy? Just to talk about that stupid party again. The guest list she spoke of was completed mere hours after making the insane decision to have this thing. However, the charade must go on so she forced herself up, put on a smile and braved the loud bustling world she now found herself in.
