"Merry Christmas, love." I wake up to Calum kissing my temple.
"Merry Christmas, babe." I smile and turn over, burying myself into his chest.
"I have a surprise for you." He whispers, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"UNCLE CALLLLLLY, KAMMMY, SANTA CAME, SANTA CAME." Roland comes barreling into the room, jumping on the bed.
"Did he? Well let go open some presents." He laughs picking him up tickling him.
"Roland, I told you not to wake them up." Mali appears in the doorway and scolds the little boy lying between the two of us, a sympathetic smile across her face before leaving once again.
"I'm sowwy." Roland sniffles.
"It's okay, we were up anyways." Calum reassures him as he gets up out of the bed.
His boxers fell just below his waist, his toned chest on display without a shirt on. It was ridiculously hard not to stare at him. God he was the definition of perfect. Everything about him was utterly flawless.
"Who wants cinnamon rolls?" Mali yells from the kitchen.
I watch as the two boys look at each other mischievously, then run from the room and race for the food.
I throw one of Calum's jumpers on, and make my way to the front of the house. When I reach the living room I instantly start crying. Every inch of the wall was covered with small homemade snowflakes. This is more then I ever imagined
"You don't like it?" Roland tugs on my pajama pants.
"No, I love it." I bend down to give him a hug
"Then why are you crying?" He looks at me confused.
"Sometimes when people are so happy, they cry." I tell him with a smile.
Calum walks over and pulls me into his arms. "I told you, you'd have snow."
"You're amazing, thank you so much." I kiss him passionately, even forgetting that his sister and nephew were watching.
We eat breakfast, sweet laughter filling the house. Afterwards we make hot chocolate then all follow a cheerful Roland to the Christmas tree to open gifts.
We let Roland open a few first then give Mali our gift. A weekend getaway by herself while we watch roland, which she loved.
"Alright, your turn." I grin as I get up to retrieve Calum's gift.
"Now If you don't like it, we can always go exchange it, okay?" I warm him, nervous that he won't like what I got him.
"Babe, I'm sure whatever it is, its perfect, just like you." He pecks me on the lips to shut me up.
I slide him the big long box that was wrapped in shiny green wrapping paper.
"What the hell?" He looks at the odd shaped box before starting to pull the paper off to reveal a new black bass.
"Oh my god, Kamryn." His eyes go wide at sight of the instrument.
"Do you like it? I wasn't sure what-" I'm cut off by his lips crashing into mine.
"Its...incredible." He smiles, staring at the present. "I can't believe you got me a new bass." He shakes his head.
"I'm glad you like it." I kiss his cheek.
"Now your turn." He smirks, reaching for a small black box with a tiny red bow.
"Before I give you this I want to explain it..." He grabs my hands, clearing his throat.
"You saved me. Simple as that. Without you, I'd be dust. So this is my promise to you as long as you'll have me. I promise that I will always be there for you, day or night. I promise I'll always try and make you smile even when you don't feel like it. I promise that no matter how much we fight, I'll never let you go to bed angry, and finally, I promise that if you ever need saving, I'll save you, just as you've saved me, Kamryn." A silent tear rolls down his cheek as he finishes.
I wipe my own cheeks that were wet from hearing him say the words I've been dreaming of for so long.
I open the box and my eyes go wide as I stare at a beautiful slver ring with a diamond in the middle.
"A promise ring?" I look over at him practically speechless.
"Until I can get you an engagement ring." He smiles.
I slide it on my finger and hold my hand out to admire it. It was gorgeous.
A sudden knock on the door makes us all turn our heads.
"I thought Gabby and Luke were spending the holiday with her parents?" Mali asks as she gets up to see who the unexpected guest was.
"Maybe Michael or Ashton?" Calum says putting his arm around me.
Calums face goes white when his sister opens the front door. His grip on my back tightens as a vaguely familiar girl stands there with a playful grin on her face.
"Oh my god I've missed you all so much!!" She squeals, throwing herself into Mali's arms.
"Who is that?" I whisper to Calum who looks like he saw ghost.
"A part of my past I never thought i'd see again."
My mouth drops with realization.
Kristie.
