A Hobbit and A Dwarf

IV: Trolls

Gandalf found an old house. It's not worth to call a house anymore since the roof and walls are gone. We're resting here tonight, i feel troubled with the house condition. But Gandalf already went away. Fìli and Kìli was sent to watch the ponies, Bombur is cooking and i make myself a comfortable place to lay.

I feel bored and walk to the two brothers. I don't see them near the ponies, i hear some tiny laughing. I don't want to play games so i ignore them. They eventually come out. It's already dark, they count the ponies again. That's when they're faces turn scared. Bilbo comes and brings them their dinner. We lost two ponies. A tree was knocked over. A light inside the forest.

"What is it?" Bilbo asks.

"Trolls." Kìli answers and run followed by Fìli.

Surely they're stupid to send Bilbo free the captured ponies. I run back as fast as i could, Bilbo won't be unnoticeable for a long time. The dwarves look confused seeing me running.

"Trolls! They got four of the ponies and soon Bilbo." I said hurrying.

When we get there Kìli is facing them. Three trolls. He get Bilbo off from the trolls hand and we charge. Oh i wish our weapons could slice through their meat. The trolls are moving wildly but they manage to throw me to a tree. My back is in pain and my vision blurred a little. I get back to my feet and walk back to the battle. The battle stops and i run just to see the trolls are holding Bilbo. This won't be good.

"Lay down your arms, or we rip him off." One of the trolls says.

Thorin is the first to do so. The others follow, not me, i sheathed back my daggers. Then half of us were putted in sacks and the other half are being cooked. I've met this lousy trolls before, easy to trick. They're dumb. Surely they remember me because i set their meal on a big fire and almost killing them. They put a cloth in my mouth. Gross. I don't want to know where they got the cloth. Being smart they also tied my hands. Beneath me is Fìli and Gloin's leg. They do struggle a lot. I tried to push the cloth out, it won't move a bit.

"Wait! You are making a terrible mistake!" Bilbo shouted.

I muffle a "finally."

"We can not reason with them. Their half-wits!"

"Half-wits? What does that make us?"

Bilbo is playing time. The dwarves go nuts at struggling, especially Fìli. Then out of nowhere Gandalf shows up and cut a rock with his staff. The trolls turn to stone. Bilbo is the first to be release by Gandalf. He helps me after Balin is free. My mouth feels sour. He cut the rope and i help Fìli. We found the trolls' cave. Thorin and Gandalf get themselves a new sword, so does Bilbo. I'm just cleaning my dagger when i hear someone coming.

"Thieves! Fire! Murder!" The person yells as he arrives.

Radagast the Brown. While the wizards have a talk, a howl is heard. Two wargs show up and we kill them. We run as Radagast being chased by the orc pack. We hide behind a big rock. A warg with it's rider are on the rock. Kìli shoot them. The orc's scream attracts the rest of the pack. We run again, but we're surrounded. Gandalf have disappeared. I'm about to grab my hidden bow and arrow when he comes out and shouts, "In here, you fools!"

We all run as fast as we could. I'm second last, after me Thorin jumps down. Soon a horn is blown. Rivendell's horn. One orc falls in. Knowing there's an elf army up there, the dwarves choose the pathway Dwalin found. What they don't know is that the path will bring us to Rivendell. We reach Rivendell and Lindir greets us. He nod to me and i nod back. Then a pack of elves come. Circling the dwarves. Next thing i know is there's food in front of me. I eat while the others complain about the food and the music.
