I was still staring at the monitor in, well I was sure what state I was in.
Ajax pulled me closer to him and I shakily pointed at the screen.
"What is that?"
He sighed before taking the mouse out of my hands and scrolling further down.
There was nothing about werewolves on the page and this made me think Ajax was wrong, terribly wrong.
"This is a public website, werewolves can't be mentioned. But sweetheart I have to tell you that the people that posted this notice, they've not been heard from for a while. I'm so sorry Baby."
I was upset.
I felt guilty but he had just shown me a small possibility that I may have family out there and it turns out they've been missing themselves.
I wasn't upset, I was angry.
I removed myself from his lap and hurled myself out of the room.
I passed an embracing couple, but then processed who it was and quickly made a grab for my cousin.
I jumped into Ajax's car, Lovella following suit, and sent up a silent thank you over the fact that Ajax had left his keys in the ignition.
Ajax and Tiago were now making there way calmly, which was rather odd considering their disposition, to the car.
I drove off leaving the cocky wolves in my wake.
I was a coward.
I wasn't coward by nature, at least I didn't think so. But the more I thought about it, the more I realised that I had never been daring enough to argue or get upset over matters that bothered me. I avoided confrontation and whenever I found myself falling witness to it I would run in the other direction.
I was a coward.
Lovella had remained silent beside me for the few minutes we had been in the car, and I felt terribly guilty for dragging her along with me on my path of destruction.
"I'm sorry, I-" before I could finish Lovella cut me off.
"I heard everything." Her words hung the air, I let a deep breath with the realisation that I couldn't protect her from this and she couldn't protect me either.
Then another thought occurred to me. How had she heard what we had been taking about.
I looked over to her and she looked deep in though.
"How did you -?"
"I don't know, I heard noises and then I concentrated and then I heard words."
My mind wandered back to the pictures on that website and I shook my head, no way could we be the same as them, no way.
"Do you think -?"
"I don't know"
She cut me off once again and we remained in silence. It felt like we had been driving for a long time but in reality it had probably only been a few minutes.
I felt the car jerk and come to a halt.
Lovella looked at the steam that was taking over most of the front window and sighed.
"I think we got with the only mechanics who own a broken car." Her matter of fact words made me laugh.
I jumped out of the car and Lovella followed. We ended up at the front of the car staring at an engine we knew nothing about.
A noise sounded behind us and we froze.
Now we had two options run or look and then run. Now we have all seen those corny horror movies where the victims claim to try and solve their own problems or if they hear a suspicion noise they go to investigate and then they end up dead. We then go onto claim that if we were in that situation we wouldn't do the same thing. Let me tell you it's not that simple.
I turned around fully so that I could see who or what had made that noise.
A large figure stood leaning against a tree. It was tall, so very tall it would have made Ajax look small. A large cloak covered the being. A hood was pulled down covering most of the thing's face.
The sleeves of the large cloak covered the being's hands and hung down low.
A cool breeze filtered through the air making me shiver, it then turned into a strong gust and I found myself holding onto the car so that I wouldn't blow away.
The tress began to sway before they started to twist and jerk. They shot up into the sky making the small wood appear as if it was a large forest.
Lovella stumbled into me and I grasped her arm, hard.
I wasn't sure what was going on and that scared me. Not as much as the 'grim reaper' but scared me all the same.
The ground began to shake and the figures good fell of, I let our a scream.
A skull stared back at me, the large hollows where the eyes used to be stared straight through me and Lovella.
One sleeve slowly went up and a bony finger uncurled out and pointed at us.
"Cleerash hetrai." The slither that was the skeletons voice clung to us, the words he said rattled me to the core.
"Cleerash hetrai" this time it was louder, more forceful and I felt something tug at my heart.
A loud growl rippled through the forest and before I could move two wolves jumped over our heads and in front of the skeleton. The darker wolf, which I guessed was Ajax, went for the skull but just before his jaws snapped close the skeleton disappeared into a puff or dark smoke that spread out into the sky.
Both males turned back into humans, Which surprisingly didn't phase me, and had a grave expressions on their face.
"It is no longer safe here." It was Tiago who said these words.
Ajax then turned to us, me and Lovella, and let out a heavy sigh.
"It is time we return to pack, to Spain."
