Chapter 36

Lillian's POV
"Quick! Someone get Kol!" I hear someone shout. I groan and slowly open my eyes to see sunlight. You have to be fucking kidding me!
"N-no. G-get a-away." I rasp out. I feel my eyes droop again and I'm out like a light.

Melanie's POV

I pull my baby out of the well despite burning myself and I place her on the the ground.

"Quick! Someone get Kol!" I shout at everyone around me. I hear a groan and I see Lillian slowly opening her eyes.

"N-no. G-get a-away." She barely gets out and passes out again. I hear the wind gust past me and I see Kol stood there looking at Lillian's unconscious body. He crouches down and starts crying.

"My princess." He says stroking her cheek.

"What have you done?" He asks and lifts her body up gently. Why does my baby keep doing this? Is this what I was like when I was trying suicide?

Kol's POV

I rush me and my princess back to my house and place her gently on the couch. I grab a blanket and place it over her. Now it's a waiting game. Hopefully she wakes soon.

Damon's POV

Melanie rushes in crying her eyes out.

"I told you she wouldn't be there." I say gently.

"She was in there, Damon. Our baby was in the vervain drenched well." She sobs and I engulf her into my arms.

Emma's POV

I pass the 'Welcome To Mystic Falls' sign and I smirk. Let's see what's happened these past 18 or so years. I go to the boarding house and see Damon and Mel hugging with Mel sobbing.

"What's happened?" I ask concerned.

"Lillian was trying to kill herself." Mel says.

"Who's Lillian?" I ask confused.

"Our daughter. Your niece." Damon says. I have a niece?

"Why wasn't I informed sooner?" I ask hurt. Wow what is with me and my emotion changes?

"You were on a business trip. We didn't want to disturb you." Damon says.

"Damon and everyone didn't know until she was 5 years of age. I moved away to get away from everything. Damon thought I had cheated because he thought it was impossible for me to be pregnant with his child. I ran like I always do. I came back after 5 years and I decided to tell everyone. We brought her up from there. Lillian is a strong girl. She's a lot like you, Emma. She puts everyone before herself. She keeps everything to herself until it becomes too much for her." Melanie explains.

"If that is your way of asking for me to talk to her then ok. Does she even know I exist?" I ask.

"Yes." Melanie answers. I widen my eyes surprised.

"Really?" I ask not believing it.

"Yes. I used to tell her stories about you when she was a kid. She always used to say that she would want to meet you and I always said she would one day. Let me ask Kol if she is awake." Melanie walks out and I frown. Why would they trust their daughter with Kol? That makes no sense.

"Kol is Lillian's mate." Damon says answering my question. I nod and sit on the couch.

"I wasn't on a business trip. I wanted to get away from everything." I say after a moments silence.

"I understand. Everything must have been a lot of pressure." He says not understanding.

"I wanted to get away from Melanie. It was too much, Day. It was too much. I couldn't handle it." I explain properly.

"You told me I could trust you. I thought we were always there for each other. We're sisters and you left, lying to everyone. I'm sorry for being too much to handle. You weren't there through my childhood. You don't understand the pain I went through. If I could have swapped places for a better life then I would have but I would never wish that pain upon anyone." I hear Melanie behind me. I stand up and face her with guilt clear on my face.

"I'm sorry Melanie. I really am. But you don't understand the amount of pain I had gone through when I was listening to you always tell me your problems. You don't understand where I was coming from. You never listened to me. You made everything about yourself. You know nothing about me." I say honestly.

"Monday 4th January 2015 at 11:45pm .... 21st January." She states.

"What are them?" I ask.

"We started talking on the 4th of January at 11:45pm. 21st January is your birthday." She states proudly and walks out but stops at the front door.

"Lillian isn't awake. The vamp doc was called and she slipped into a coma. There is 99% chance that she is never going to wake up." And with that, she left.
