A/N merry Christmas everyone I hope you have a great time and happy holidays!
Annabeth's POV
"But mom I don't want to go" I whined. My mom just informed me that we are going to some Christmas party tonight instead of staying home. I mean it's fricking Christmas Eve! Whatever. I just learned to listen to her, it's better for the both of us.
"Who's Christmas party is it?" I asked.
"It's a business associate of mine. His name is Poseidon Jackson. And I think he has a son your age" she said. I don't really care. We usually end up going to a business Christmas party on Christmas Eve and it's the same every year. I just ignore everyone, and rarely I will politely greet people if they talk to me. I hurry upstairs to pick out an outfit and get ready. Once I was happy with my outfit, I move onto my hair.
"Ready!" I called down to my mother.
"Fine. Hurry" she said only slightly less grumpy than usual. My mother is Athena Chase, the famous business woman. I never get any attention from her, and she's always working. I make my way downstairs and hop in my moms car. It was about a 7 minute drive. I could've walked. My mom pulled in front of a large mansion. It was about the same size as ours. I got out of the car, and knocked on the door. A bored looking boy answered the door. He was extremely handsome, with his messy black hair, beautiful green eyes, and well toned body. He was also very muscular.
"Hello, I don't think we've met before. I'm Percy Jackson" he said holding out his hand for me to shake. This must be the boy my mom was talking about.
"Hi, I'm Annabeth Chase" I said shaking his hand.
"You must be Athena's daughter" he assumed.
"In the flesh" I respond.
"Come in..." He offered. I nodded politely. My mother came in behind me, she didn't even acknowledge us before going to mingle with other adults. I rolled my eyes.
"So have you ever been to one of these business parties before?" Asked Percy.
"Yes, and I find them painfully boring" I said, throwing my hands in the air.
"Good, I though I was the only one that thought they were boring" he chuckled. I smiled. Maybe I won't be so bored after all.
"C'mon I'll show you around" he said motioning me to follow him. After the tour he took me to his bedroom. It was a pretty shade of blue, with a few grey and white accents. Percy flopped down on his bed.
"So Annabeth, tell me about yourself. I basically know nothing about you, other than the fact that you are eye catchingly beautiful" he said. I blushed, he just called me beautiful. Although I'm pretty sure catchingly isn't a word. I sat down next to him.
"Well, my father left my mom and I when I was little" I said sighing.
"I'm so sorry" said Percy.
"Also, my favorite animal is an owl, I can judo flip someone no problem, and my favorite color is grey" I said. Percy nodded his head.
"Now what about you Mr. Jackson" I asked. Percy though for a moment.
"My favorite color is blue, I love to swim, and I love blue food" he said.
"Wait... Did you say blue food" I asked confused. He nodded his head.
"Yes. My moms old boyfriend said that there was no such thing as blue food. And so my mom and I made a bunch of blue food to prove him wrong" explained Percy. I giggled. Wait I never giggle... What is wrong with me?
Percy and I talked for hours and hours. He was so funny, and I really enjoyed his company.
"Alright there" he said, we just finished putting our phone numbers in each other's phones.
"Thanks" I said.
"We should probably go downstairs, our parents might be wondering where we are" said Percy.
"I doubt my mom even knows I've been gone" I said sighing.
"C'mon" he said. We made our way downstairs. Perfect timing too because the party was ending. People were starting to leave, and the amount of people here had gone down by at least half.
"Let's go Annabeth, time to go home" said my mom.
"Alright. I'll be right there" I said and my mom nodded. She left and got in the car.
"Guess this is goodbye for now" I said dramatically. Percy laughed. He looked above us and smiled. I gave him a puzzled look and looked up. I realized we were standing under a mistletoe. I looked at Percy shyly, and our eyes met. He put one hand on the side of my face, and leaned in. Our lips met and it was like freaking fireworks exploded. I don't know how long the kiss lasted but it my opinion it did last long enough. We gently pulled apart, and I stared into his beautiful green eyes.
"I'll see you later" I whispered. And with that I walked out of the house and joined my mom in the car.
"That took way to long" she grumbled. I just laughed. There was a little bit of an awkward silence until my mom broke it.
"So, I scheduled a dinner tomorrow night with the Jacksons at their house so we could discuss more business. And I know you probably don't want to go, so why don-" I cut my mom off.
"No I'd love to go" I said smiling to myself.
"Alright then...." She said confused. I closed my eyes and thought about Percy. I was excited to see him again. All I had to do was wait until tomorrow night.
