Percy's POV
Today was Monday, my least favorite day of the week. I always had to get up early and go to school. But today was an especially evil Monday. All was going normally until I was called to the principals office. But that too was normal. I often was called to the principals office because I skipped class or I got into trouble or something. But when I got there he didn't lecture me or tell me I was in trouble nor did he send me to detention. He told me that my grades were slipping. And this wasn't news to me I knew this an never really cared. But he said if I don't get my grades up I won't be able to graduate. I know what your thinking, why would Percy Jackson swim team captain, popular guy, and lead singer of the band All Time Low care if he didn't graduate. Well it's simple if I don't graduate I don't get to leave the hell that is school. I almost wished he sent me to detention. I mean sure, it's mind numbingly boring, but at least it's an extra hour away from Gabe. Gabe is the awful, horrible, ugly man that my mom married. I don't know why she did but all I know is that he abuses me and her and my mom is the best person in the world, she deserves better.
I really didn't want to get my grades up, I didn't want to spend that kind of time but I guess I don't have a choice.
"There is a big test coming up in your English class. That's a great way to start getting your grades up. Why don't you go the the library and study" suggested the principal.
"This school has a library?" I asked.
"The principal laughed. Then realized I was completely serious.
"Yes...." He replied, nodding his head slowly. I groaned. The principal sent me to the library and recommend a few books. I grumbled as I pulled a book from the shelf. I have officially decided that I hate this place. It's cold, quiet, and smells bad. I make my way through the isles of books, hoping that nobody I know sees me here. I have no idea how this library system works I was in the W section when I needed to be in E. This is hopeless. I throw my hands up in exasperation. I heard someone giggle behind me. I turn around puzzled. Now I know a lot of people at the school but not once have I ever seen this beautiful blonde girl with striking grey eyes.
"Need some help there?" She asked trying to contain her laughter. I cross my arms over my chest.
"And what makes you say that?" I asked.
"Well you just look so confused" she said bursting into laughter. We receive a few "Shhs!" From the geeks around us. The girl glared at them and they immediately shut up.
"What are you looking for?" Asked the girl.
"English... not that I need any help!" I said adding the last part quickly. She giggled.
"Okay seaweed brain, you are looking on the wrong side of the library, E's are on isle 2 genius" she said an amused smirk on her face.
"Pshhh I new that..." I said awkwardly. We laugh.
"Hi I'm Annabeth Chase" said the girl she sticks out her hand for me to shake.
"Hi I'm-" Annabeth cut me off.
"I know who you are, everyone at this school knows who you are" she said rolling your eyes.
"I take it your not a fan" I said leaning against the bookcase. She shook her head.
"Don't get me wrong, I love your music just not exactly the people who play it" said Annabeth.
"Why are we too fantastic?" I asked grinning. She scoffed.
"As if! I just hate your band mate Luke." She said sadly. I nodded none of us really like Luke we just keep him because he's a good guitarist.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Let's just say our relationship ended with a bang" said Annabeth. I nodded Luke was with a different girl every night. We started walking towards isle 2.
"Sooooo... What's your favorite color?" I asked lifting an eyebrow. She scoffed.
"Wouldn't you like to know." Replied Annabeth. I put my hand over my heart and pretend to be hurt.
"Yes I would like to know. First off, that's why I asked AND HOW DARE YOU NOT TELL ME" I said dramatically. She giggled.
"If you tell me your favorite color then maybe I'll tell you mine" said Annabeth with a smug look on her face. I pout.
"Fine! My favorite color is blue" I said happily. She nodded her head. We reached isle 2 and she pulled out a few books for me.
"For English you are probably going to need... these, these, and... this. She said handing me a giant stack of books.
"I just need enough knowledge for one semester not the entire year" I said, Annabeth laughed, I loved the way she laughed. First her gray eyes light up and then she smiles and bites her lip. I stared at the large amount of books. How will I ever read this many books! Especially since I'm dyslexic.
"Your going to need all of these" she explained. I groaned.
"But this is gonna take foooooorever!!!" I complained. "will you help me study????" I said flashing her my begging face. At first she looked skeptical, then she saw my face and gave in. I smile and grab Annabeth's hand. I dragged her over to a study table and dropped the books down. We sit down, I really didn't want to let go of we hand but I knew I had to. I release her hand and pick up a book. I can still feel her warm touch on my fingers. I ran my hand through my hair. It's what I do when I'm nervous.
"So are you gonna start reading?" She asked tilting her head to the side. I bit my lip.
"Well... Um it's really hard for me since I'm dyslexic" I admitted, awkwardly. Her gaze softened.
"I'm sorry I didn't know" said Annabeth.
"It's ok" I said shaking my head slowly.
"I could maybe read it to you?"she suggested. I grinned at her, and nodded. She took the book from my hand and started reading aloud. I loved the sound of her voice. The way she read made even stupid English sound interesting.Annabeth and I ended up studying for at least 3 hours. She assured me that I was ready for the test.
"Thanks Annabeth, I really couldn't have done this without you" I said smiling.
"No problem" said Annabeth zipping up her backpack.
"Do you often help people you just met study for English tests in the library?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, your just one of many" she said nodding her head with fake seriousness. I pout and she laughs.
"Hey... Do you like movies?" I asked after a long awkward silence. She raised and eyebrow.
"And what would you do if I said yes?" Asked Annabeth.
"I would take you to one" I replied smirking.
"And what if I said no?" She asked shrugging her shoulders.
"Would you really say no?" I asked still smirking. She shook her head.
"Good. Because I have a movie in mind" I said linking her arm with mine.
"And what movie would that be?" She asked.
"Now that, my dear Wise Girl, is a surprise" I said with wink. Annabeth just rolled her eyes, but willingly went along."And that kids is how I met your mother" I said. My two kids sat on the carpet.
"That was it daddy? I though it would be more exciting like you met at a magical camp or something" said Jessie my 7 year old daughter. I chuckled.
"You kids have such wild imaginations" I said.
Where would they get an I idea like that...
