Percy's POV
I stared at the home phone deciding whether or not to dial the number that the girl left on the coffee sleeve. It was kinda sad how many times I picked up the phone then set it back down.
My friend Jason looked at his nails.
"Come on man, just dial the number. The worst that could happen is you have a bad date"His words of encouragement we're truly inspiring. I scoffed.
"That's not true. I don't even know her name. For all I know she could be a mob boss"Jason lifted an eyebrow. "Uh huuuh." He said doubtfully. "A notorious mob boss grabbing coffee on Blossom St."
"Whatever, it could happen"
"If you don't do it, I will" Jason lunged for the phone and I quickly swiped it away before he could grab it.
"Fine fine I'll call her."
Jason smiled and recited the numbers on the sleeve.
I dialed the last digit and couldn't stop squinting while it rang.
"Hello?" A female voice pick up on the other line.
"Yeah hi, my name is Percy. I work at the coffee shop on Blossom"
A faint laugh came from the phone.
"Wow, I can't believe you called" said the girl."That makes two of us"
Our small laughs chimed together allowing for an awkward pause afterward."So did you call to listen to me breath? Or to ask me out?" Asked the girl.
"Well it would be easier if I knew who I was asking"
"Well that takes away the fun" she said lightheartedly. "But fine, I guess a name couldn't hurt. Annabeth"
"Much appreciated. Now Annabeth would you like to join me for a walk in the park?"
"That would be nice yeah. Say about noonish?"
"Perfect" before I could say anything else she hung up.
"Well?" Asked Jason, a little too excitedly. Since his girlfriend Piper is gone for the week he's living his love life vicariously through me.
"We're walking at the park at noon"
"Ha I knew you could do it!" I rolled my eyes and pushed him off the beanbag chair.

I grabbed the two coffees off the counters and shut the front door using my foot.
I didn't need to drive since the park is so close to my house. I just walked a few blocks and turned. Af the big metal gate in front was Annabeth holding two coffees.
Annabeth noticed the coffee I had brought and smiled.
"Think we can drink it all?" She asked shrugging her shoulders."I doubt it"
We threw away the extra two coffees and I smiled at her.
"Ugh you're so cute when you do that"
I tilted my head to the side. "What?"
"When you smile"
"But I'm always smiling" I said as if I was observing something.
"Yeah but when grin and you're eyes light up it's different"
There was a short pause before I spoke again.
"So I'm only cute when I grin?"
Annabeth scoffed. "No you're cute all the time you're just extra cute then"
"I'll take it" I nodded my head and we started walking down the path.
As we got further down the path we became more comfortable.
We talked about our family's and where we both went to school.
"Are you serious?!? Said Annabeth practically choking on her coffee.
"What? Is it that hard to believe?"
"That you've never been to a concert? Yes! You have not lived until you've seen a band perform live"
"Well maybe you have to take me."
"Mr. Percy Jackson is that you're sad, pathetic, way of asking me out on a second date"
"If I said no would it better my chances?"
Annabeth laughed. I loved it when she laughed. Her body bounced up and down, and her gray eyes sparked with excitement.
I touched the edge of her hand with mine and she gladly accepted the gesture.
So there we were walking down the park holding hands.
"Hey Annabeth, I turned my head towards her.
"Hmm"
"I'm really glad your no a famous mob boss.
"What?"
