Percy took a long deep breath as soon as he reached his seat. He closed his eyes, just happy to escape the hectic atmosphere of the airport. After using his feet to push his backpack under the seat, he slumped down, allowing himself to be surrounded by the uncomfortable leather.

All the other passengers bustled around him, ether searching for space for their overhead carry-ons, or using their ticket to find their seats.

After a few minutes of relaxation, a frail elderly pair approached him. Percy had hoped to get a row all to himself, but he knew the chances of that were slim.

Percy rose from his isle seat to allow the couple to pass. They gratefully nodded and slipped into the row.

One thing Percy didn't expect from the old couple, was how openly romantic they were. From awkward makeup sessions to loudly serenading each other. Some would say they were the "talk of the plane". In the worst way possible.

And unfortunately for Percy, he was the closest to it all. It became so bad that various passengers started giving him looks of pity in between the glares they shot at the couple.

After Percy learned to ignore Mr. And Mrs. Love, the flight became peaceful again. The flight attendants roamed around the cabin, offering you water or pretzels, every so often. And Percy didn't waste any time asking for multiple snack bags and beverages every time theycame his way.

Everything was fine for a while until a specific flight stewardess disrupted his comfort. When she walked down the isle, with the snack cart, Percy asked for six assorted snack bags and three bottles of water.

But instead of being greeted with the usual kindness, the flight attendant hit him square in the face with one water bottle. Not even one bag pretzels or questionable cheesy snacks.

Percy turned his attention toward the flight attendant. She was a tall blonde with bright gray eyes. She looked as if being a stewardess was the last thing she wanted to be doing, and it probably was.

"Excuse me miss, I think I'm missing a few snack and bottles of water." Pointed out Percy, hoping to clear up this mishap.

"I'm sorry sir, but I'm cutting you off." Replied the lady, scooping some ice into a cup for another passenger.

"What?" Asked Percy, confused by the lack of respect he was being given.

"I can obviously see four bottles of water down my your feet. You don't need any more. And as for the snacks, this has never happened before, but you have taken too many. Not only it that not healthy," said the lady eyeing him judgmentally . "But we need the snacks for everybody."

"So you are just going to leave me to starve and dehydrate here?"

The stewardess looked unamused.
"We only have a half an hour left in the flight, , and I can see the multiple bottles of water by your feet. And how could you possibly still be hungry? You've been eating chips and pretzels all through the flight."

"First of all, I'm talented that way, and second, a half an hour is practically a year plane time. So I'm gonna need some extra fuel." Explained Percy, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Right. Well I'm sorry..." trailed off Annabeth, pausing for his name.

"Percy Jackson."

"I'm sorry Mr. Jackson, you will just have to survive." Without another word the flight attendant continued pushing the cart down the isle.

The next time, the same blonde stewardess can down his idle. And Percy made sure to pay attention to her name tag this time.

Annabeth

"Well, Annabeth," spat Percy, miserable from the lack of food. She turned her head at the mention of her name. "I am practically wasting away! If you don't fork over one of the pretzel bags I'm convinced I have to sue."

Annabeth lifted an eyebrow. "The airline or me?" She questioned, with a slight laugh laced into her words.

Percy though for a moment. "Uh, both?"

"Right, tell me how that goes."

The more Annabeth mocked him, the angrier Percy became. "Yeah, well I can't! I don't have a way to contact you!" He paused for a moment before adding, "Not that I want to contact you!"

Annabeth just ignored him and handed some pretzels to a little boy.

"So he gets pretzels?!" Asked Percy.

"Yes, he hadn't previously eaten about 30 packs." Answered Annabeth, pouring soda into a cup.

"I think it's favoritism. It all comes down to who you like more." Insisted Percy, hoping that all of his complaining would earn him at least
one bag of a Chex-Mix.

"Yes. It doesn't have to do with the fact you can, and are using all the snack bag wrappers as a blanket."

"They can be more comforting than you think!" Protested Percy, now hearing how pathetic he sounded.

"Whatever you say." Annabeth continued pushing the cart down the isle, serving each passenger that flagged her down.

The third time Annabeth came down the isle again, Percy waved her over

"Are you trying to make my flight miserable?" Questioned Percy obviously worked up.

"Of course not Percy, in fact in making it better. If it weren't for me, you would be sitting alone, next to couple Mc-smoochy over there." She nodded toward the elderly couple. "Does sitting alone playing Bejeweled on the tv screen really beat talking to me?"

"No, but Bejeweled sets the bar pretty low."

"Fair enough." Annabeth shrugged "Either way you are still not getting snacks."

Percy groaned, and later his head on the tray table, and remained that way until the captain said to put them up. It was time to land.

***

On the way off the plane, multiple flight attendants bid the passengers goodbye.

Out of all the stewardesses Percy was left with Annabeth as a goodbye well wisher. She gave a small wave before Percy passed by her, ignoring her completely.

Once back at home,Percy collapsed onto the couch. He glanced at his suitcase and noticed something scribbled on his luggage tag.

Percy picked up the luggage and examined the tag.

Let's hope all those snacks didn't ruin your appetite. Dinner sometime? -Annabeth

With her number listed beneath.

Percy debated calling for awhile before giving in.

And way off into the future, who knew that the last last isle Annabeth would ever walk down was at her and Percy's wedding.
