Annabeth's POV
"Oh c'mon Annabeth they are two 10 year old kids. What could possibly go wrong?"asked Percy. I contemplated what Percy said. He's right, how hard can watching two ten year olds be?
"Um... Annabeth where did Zoey and Lucas go...?!" Asked Percy. I looked around frantically, searching for them. I spotted a glimpse of blonde hair run into the forest.
"There!" I said, pointing to where I saw the hair. Percy and I ran through the trees. We now had a clear view of the twins, and grabbed them.
"Hey!" Protested Lucas.
"You can't go running around the camp alone" said Percy.
"Yeah it's dangerous" I added.
"We just wanted to explore" pouted Zoey, crossing her arms across her chest.
"I'm sorry but you can't go off on your own" I said. Percy picked up the twins.
"Are you guys hungry?" Asked Percy. They nodded their heads, and we brought them to the dining hall.
"These are empty plates" said Zoey blankly.
"Just think about what you want to eat, and it will appear" I told them. They looked at me confused, then did what they were told. Suddenly, mac and cheese, and fries showed up on Zoey's plate and a cake and candy showed up on Lucas's.
"You have to actually eat a proper meal" i said to Lucas. "Right Percy?" I asked. But when I looked over Percy and Lucas were already stuffing their face's with cake. I gave Percy a really look. He awkwardly froze.
"What? it was blue" he pointed out. He had cake all over his face. I laughed and wiped his face off with a napkin.
"Hmm" I said. "you still have a little something right here" I said kissing him.
"Got it" I said smiling after we pulled away.
"Ewww" said the twins pretending to barf. We laughed, and Percy put his arm around my waste.
"Percy! Annabeth" I spotted Leo, a few yards away, waving his hands like a mad man. He made a come here motion with his arms. We groaned.
"Stay right here" I instructed the twins, "We'll be right back"
We walked over to Leo and followed him to his cabin. Once we got inside the cabin Leo stopped and looked at us.
"Okay guys this is really important. Which shirt should I wear? This one?" he said holding up a white polo shirt. "Or this one?" he asked holding up a black dress shirt. We both gave him death glares.
"Really!" I yelled at him.
"You dragged us away for this!" Exclaimed Percy.
"Maybe" Leo squeaked.
"Whatever" I said. I pointed to the black dress shirt "that one"
"Thanks!" Said Leo. I was about to ask him why he was getting dressed up, but then I decided I didn't care. Percy and I walked back to the spot where we left the twins, the only thing was THEY WEREN'T THERE!
"Why are those kids always running off" grunted Percy, annoyed.
"I don't know, but it doesn't matter. We need to find them" I instructed. Percy nodded.
"I'll go this way? You go that way?" Percy suggested. He pointed in front of him and behind him.
"Sure" I agreed.
"If you haven't found anything meet me at the dining hall in an hour" said Percy. I have him a little salute. He gave me a kiss on the cheek before running the other direction.
"Alright" I muttered to myself. "Where to first"
As I was walking my shoe lace got caught in a bush.
"Great" I said sarcastically. I bent down and started untangling my shoe lace. When I was done I retied my shoe. I was starting to stand up when I noticed something. There were two small fresh trails of footprints in the mud. I smiled to myself. Bingo I followed the footsteps and eventually they led to a mountain. I looked at it confused but continued to follow the trail. After I while I was about mid way up the mountain when the footsteps stopped. I looked up and I was standing in front of Rachel's Cave. Ever since she became the oracle, Apollo made her a cave. I stepped through the beaded curtains and saw a bunch of cool vintage magic looking stuff. I had only been here once before but I only saw this front part. Although I knew that there was a back room. I spotted a door in the corner and opened it. Okay strike that it wasn't a back room it was a back MANSION! There was a pool and so many different games and lights. There were palm trees and so many doors. I even spotted a cafe.
"Wow" was all I could muster. I walked around until I spotted Rachel.
"Hey!" I said jogging over to her. I don't think she heard me over all the noise and loud music. I walked up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder. He turned, and smiled.
"Hey" I saw her mouth. I couldn't hear her it was too loud. She took out a remote from her pocket and paused the music.
"Hi Annabeth" she greeted. "What brings you to my humble abode?" I scoffed at the word humble.
"Humble? Yeah right" I said. She laughed.
"Yeah it's awesome. Apollo made it, and it's sound proof so you can't hear anything from outside this room" she replied. I nodded and then remembered why I was here.
"Oh, um have you seen two little blonde children about ye high?" I asked putting a hand a little above stomach.
"Yeah" she said cheerfully. "Zoey and Lucas are eating at the cafe. Why?" She said.
"Well...PercyandIweresupposedtobewatchingthembutthenweleftforasecondandwecouldn'tfindthemsowesplitupandIfoundfootprintsandtheyledhere" I said all at once.
"Woah calm down. Jeez woman breath" said Rachel. I laughed.
"I just need to find them" I said.
"Sure, they are over here" she replied. I followed her to the cafe. And of course they were there stuffing their faces with cookies.
"We already told you not to run off!" I yelled.
"We're sorry" said Zoey looking down.
"What's your excuse this time?" I asked tapping my foot.
"Well, we missed mommy and we wanted to go home so we tried to leave but we got lost and found Rachel walking to her cave, and she let us stay here" explained Lucas. My face softened. I bent down.
"Look, I know you guys want to go home, but it's not safe there. Here you are protected and safe, at home monsters will try and attack and with out the proper training you could get seriously hurt" I said. They nodded understandingly.
"Alright" I confirmed. I turned to Rachel. "Thank you for making sure they were okay"
"Any time. I miss babysitting" she said. I smiled. The twins took my hands and we set off to find Percy.
Percy's POV
I have had no luck finding the twins. I was walking around camp searching when Chiron galloped up to me.
"Hello Percy" said Chiron. His smile immediately faltered when he noticed when he noticed I was alone. "Where's Annabeth and the twins?!" Asked Chiron slightly alarmed.
"Umm... Annabeth is..." I glanced to my right. "In the bathroom!" I lied.
"And the twins?" Chiron pressed.
"Oh, right... They are in the... Weapons shed!" I said nervously, I think I said the last part little too quickly, but he didn't notice.
"Wait! You left two young children alone in a weapons shed!?" Yelled Chiron, worried.
"Of course not..." I laughed awkwardly. "They are with... Um... Leo!" I exclaimed.
"You left two young children in weapons shed with Leo! That's even worse!" He shouted.
"Right." I said. "I'll go fix that" I dashed off as fast as I could. I sighed in relief. He's gone. In the distance, I spotted Annabeth with two small figures following her. I jogged over.
"Thank the gods you're here!" I said. "I don't think Chiron will buy any more of my lies" Annabeth laughed.
"We told you not to run off" I said sternly.
"We're sorry" mumbled Lucas. They came up to me and gave me a hug. I bent down so I could hug them back. Suddenly Annabeth gasped. I pulled away and looked at her confused. I looked at the twins an smiled. They were being claimed. A banner rise over both of their heads. It was Apollo! The twins were still confused, until we explained.
"So our daddy is a god?" Asked Zoey. I nodded.
"Cool!" Said Lucas excited. We took them over to the Apollo cabin. Annabeth knocked on the door and Will opened it.
"Hey guys!" Said Will happily. "What's up?"
"Will... you have two new siblings!" Exclaimed Annabeth. Will's smile grew wider. He hugged the twins and they hugged back. I heard him whisper.
"Welcome to the family"
"We'll let you get settled" I said, talking Annabeth's hand. She nodded and we shut the door. She turned to me and laughed.
"You know? We probably are the wort babysitters ever!" She said.
"I don't know" I admitted "I didn't think we did that bad" she stared at me stupidly.
"You are such a seaweed brain!" Said Annabeth ruffling my hair. I have her a lopsided grin.
"Maybe we will do better next time?" I suggested. Annabeth scoffed.
"What do you mean next time?" She asked.
"I don't know" I said.
"Percy, let's hope there isn't a next time" she said. I laughed.
"Okay" I agreed. She kissed me. And we set off to find Chiron.
