“Hey Alex, are you okay? You seem kinda distracted lately” Rima showed up with some snacks on her hands.
“I’m just dizzy, I haven’t eaten since this morning and-and I’m not very good handling the cold” I said trying to get the thoughts out of my mind.
“Jeez it’s just like Bryan said” she chuckled “you need to have someone around you 24/7” she said grabbing my arm and leading me inside to a table.
“I’m perfectly fine on my own!” I shoved my arm off of hers, her eyes widened at my sudden action and I suddenly realized that I wasn’t acting like myself. “I’m sorry, it’s just I don’t really want to hear that specially coming from him” she smiled and grabbed my arm again.
“Did you two have a bickering discussion again?” she said, I never noticed that sometimes Rima speaks with another accent. Her blond, sandy hair was just like Bryans’ her eyes were slightly darker and with a different shape; and her skin was whiter but there was still something, something that made them similar.
“Rima be honest with me, you and Bryan are related, aren’t you” I said when we finally sat down at a table.
“Y-yes” she was a bit flustered looking at the menu.
“Well are you guys, cousins or something?” I said still very curious.
“You’ll find out one day, soon” she closed the menu and smiled as if it really made her happy being all mysterious about it. The waiter came and took our orders.
“So two bacon, double deluxe, one with onion rings the other one with supreme potatoes. One water and a strawberry kiwi juice” the waiter repeated the order and left.
“But tell me how did you noticed?” Rima leaned over to me. It was amazing to watch Rima have an expression on her face. She was always serious; it was amazing to see her with another expression on her face.
“Well I never noticed ‘till now. The hair, you sometimes speak with his same accent, you said something he would’ve earlier, and I don’t know I just thought asking for the moment” I said, even though it didn’t really seem enough evidence to make that assumption.
“And cousins?” she raised an eyebrow but kept grinning
“Well Thompson and Montez, different last names” the waiter came with our food.
“You are very interesting” she took a bite of her burger while being in deep thought “And smart; no wonder you’re number three on the ranks” what ranks is she talking about?
“Thanks, I guess” I still wanted to ask so many questions but my empty stomach was screaming for food. “Uh, Rima, has Bryan ever mentioned a Kate in his conversations? A Kate Rolland to be specific”
“Kate Rolland?” she was deep in thought for at least a minute “You mean Kate Rolland the III? Your friend?” I nodded “No, not unless she’s talking about you, or talking with Nate” so she was oblivious to the situation
“So he’s never mentioned anything about liking her?”
“I think you might’ve misunderstood, Nate is the one who likes her” I nodded agreeing.
“I just saw them earlier acting really friendly and fond of each other” I said already done with my burger “As if they had kissed” I mumbled the last part but it was loud enough so she could hear it.
“That’s impossible; Bryan wouldn’t do that, especially with Kate”
“I know that’s what I thought too but, you had to be there and see their faces, it was…EROTIC!” Rima couldn’t help but laugh loud at my exaggeration
“Probably imagining things” she said. As we rounded up the girls and went back to the bus to the hotel. We didn’t have anything scheduled ‘till the evening, where we would have a, ball.
I entered the room and landed straight on my bed.
“Is it really tiring to be a Prefect?” Rosalie entered the room as well, and landed on my bed to give me a back massage. I shook my head to lazy to talk. Kate entered the room as well not even greeting us.
“Kate I didn’t see you much today” I said
“You were busy” she said avoiding the questions and getting her valet out.
“Yes, I was. But I bet you were pretty busy as well with all the attractions” I couldn’t help but get a bit annoyed at not even be given an explanation or not even being informed.
“Anyway I talked to Nate today” her reaction changed her eyes were sad as if she didn’t want to hear it. “And he said the oddest thing” I tried to laugh it out “he said Bryan was interested in you” her face was blank and no response “And then we saw you two together very friendly, so is it true?” I also got my valet out having an excuse to not face her.
“Bryan and I are currently dating” She said plainly
“But don’t you like Nate?”
“I do”
“We-Well I just don’t get you. Nate was about to open up his feelings to you!”
“But he hasn’t!”
“Do you even like Bryan?”
“Why do you care so much?” Again with a question I couldn’t respond.
“Because you’re one of my best friends and you’re playing with two guys’ hearts and one of them happens to be an acquaintance” Kate smiled and couldn’t help but laugh I heard a bit of chuckles from Rose as well.
“You are so dense” she kissed my check “I am very, very sorry” she left with her towel.
“So do you truly believe that Bryan is interested in Kate?” Rose came up to me laughing.
“Well I was so sure that he wasn’t but then-“
“Oh Alex hurry up and get ready, we’ll be late for the party. Besides isn’t Mr. Kuran coming today?”
“Oh my God! Today’s Christmas!”
“Well technically it’s Christmas Eve, Sherlock”
“I had totally forgotten about it”
“Really, we never noticed” Rose used to backfire me with sarcasm since I usually responded like that. She rolled her eyes, grabbed her towel and mine, and pulled me to the bathroom.
