"Alex, Alex" Joe's voice woke me up. I opened my eyes and looked around for the silver light but nothing. Joe had opened my windows; the dark room I fell asleep in was now with sun rays burning my eyes more that they were.
"What are you doing snoozing, you haven't done your valet" Joe said, as I felt joy in my body and didn't have the slightest idea why. I felt happiness running through my cheeks, I felt as if I shined.
"Joe, Joe, it's not that hard to do a suitcase, the only thing I have to do is throw all my stuff in and... Are you sure all of my stuff is going to fit in there?" I said to him, I don't think all of my stuff was going to fit in just two medium size valets.
"No that's why" he paused going back to the door and pulling my mother's valet that was like two large size valets in one, the Jumbo, as I called it. My mother bought it when Emily was born; she put Joe, Emily's clothes and hers in there. It reached almost to my chest and it was wider than Joe was.
"Joe thanks" I went and threw it, with all my strength, to the bed. I put all the stuff that were in my drawers and threw it in there. Then went to my closet, folded all the clothing and put it there as well, all of my shoes too. Now the most important things my bling, make-up, perfume, lotion, exetera, exetera, exetera. Time was running out, I felt as if something else where missing... my journal. I had all the things I've written and my pictures there. I found it.
"There" I said trying to close my valet. I put some clothes on, skinny jeans and a pretty black blouse I had, some black heels with the elegant-type purse I had for occasions like this. I straighten my hair and I went downstairs. Joe brought my suitcase to the car it was too big and heave for me to carry. I crossed my fingers and eyes, didn't even realized we were already there. As if the house had moved while I we were there. My grandparents were there, I only saw them in special holidays and such. I've never even been on their house. My dad was here, my cousins, uncles, aunts, people I didn't even knew and people I recognize but didn't even remember. All of them said the same thing <<Oh, I remember the last time I saw you, you were just a baby>> and kissed me.
I went down to the cafeteria before the service started I grabbed a hot chocolate and a glazed donut and sat down there, alone, I saw Amy, Kelly, Jessica and Sam looking for me, they spotted me and ran toward me. I looked at them with a smile as Amy sighted, they were all worried about me. My mom was recognized everywhere she was a lawyer, very smart and trust-worthy, everybody loved her.
"Can you live?" Sam asked
"Somehow, somewhat" I said to them
"I'm going to bring some drinks" Kelly was hypnotized looking at the counter; she is a sucker for sweets.
"So what are you going to do now?" Amy asked
"Well... honestly I don't know" I answered "I'm not going to live with my dad, at least" I paused to see their face full of relieved they were the only ones who knew about my father's problem. "I just don't feel angry or sad or happy, I don't feel anything as if I couldn't get it through my head" I finished my complaint.
"I'm really sorry you feel that way, but what are you really gonna do?" Amy asked again. As I thought of Amy she always wanted a direct answer.
"I'm going to start living with my guardian" I said "Mr. Kuran that's all I know about him" I said
