Chapter 9

Hey everyone! Merry Christmas! I'm starting to write this on Xmas day lol. Enjoy :)

"Cause the players' gonna play play play play play and the haters' gonna hate hate hate hate hate baby I'm just gonna shake shake"

"Agh!" I said, sitting upright.

My alarm with Shake It Off playing had gone off. Oh wait. I set it to do that.

Clever stuff, Zara. You're so intelligent.

I hate my inner voice sometimes.

I turned it off and lay back in bed. I decided to go on YouTube on my phone as it was 7.

I typed in Zoella and forgot that she was taking a break for two weeks because I had come. So had Alfie.

I decided to look at Joe's instead. Yes! He had posted a video yesterday. I can't believe that in actually going to meet him soon! His new video was labelled - SUGG SURPRISE. Hmm. That could be something to do with Zoe because of Sugg Surprise. I clicked it and stated watching.

"Hey guys. Right so today, CASPAR, STOP MESSING WITH ME STUFF! ... Anyway, today I'm gonna tell you a surprise. I have checked with my sister, Zoe, if it's ok for me to just tell you this part. Basically, a surprise for the viewers is happening at Zoe's house in Brighton. I can't tell you what yet but it's something to do with Zoe. So I'm taking a few days off vlogging, even though I said I would, sorry. So yeah!"

I paused the video. Joe was coming today? Omg yay! I haven't actually met any of Zoe's friends apart from Alfie, but he's her boyfriend so it's a bit different...

I went into Zoe and Alfie's room after knocking. There was no reply but I entered anyway.

I saw Zoe and Alfie both asleep. I didn't know wether to wake Zoe up or not but before I thought about it any longer, Zoe's eyes opened and she smiled at me.

"Hey Zara! Up early? Oh wait, it's 7:10! Oops." Zoe said, looking at her alarm clock, laughing.

"Yeah!" I said, laughing too. "Umm, Zoe, is Joe coming today or soon? Because I saw that on his channel he said he was visiting us."

"Oh, yes! Sorry he texted me and woke me up at 11:30. Typical Joe. We arranged it and he can't wait to meet you!"

"Awesome! Wow he must've been up late cause his video was up like five hours Ago." I said.

"Again, typical Joe!" Zoe laughed. "Shall we go and have some breakfast then?"

"Sure!"

For breakfast I had cornflakes and milk with Apple juice for my drink.

"What time is Joe coming?" I asked Zoe.

"Approximately around 11, if there's no hold ups along the way.

"Ok." I said.

When I went to my room and turned on my phone. I had a message from Eddie. My stomach dropped.

It read " forgotten me, have you?"

Feeling guilt spread around my insides, I tried FaceTiming him. He immediately picked up.

"Eddie! I'm so sorry about that! I just forgot as I was doing so much and I've had so many changes.

"Too many changes to forget a 'friend' Yeah, I get it."

"Eddie, please! I'm really sorry."

"Look, you told me you would contact me all the time but since you left I have only heard one thing - I'm here!" he looked so put out."

" I'll do anything to make it up to you!" I pleaded, sadly.

"No, no. It's fine."

"Really? I said, not convinced.

"Yes."

He was clearly lying. I felt so bad.

There was an awkward pause until I heard the doorbell go downstairs.

"I'm so sorry, I have to go! Joe's here."

"Ok. Bye then."

"Bye."

Just before I hung up, I thought I heard him mutter, 'bet you're only just practicing for your name to be heard.'

Was it my imagination?
